2024 Budapest Assembly Election
The 2024 Budapest Assembly election was held on 9 June 2024, concurrent with other 2024 Hungarian local elections, local elections in Hungary. In December 2023, the National Assembly (Hungary), Hungarian Parliament restored party-list proportional rules, which was last applied in the 2010 Budapest Assembly election. During the election, 32 representatives will be elected, while the Mayor of Budapest will be elected directly by popular vote 2024 Budapest mayoral election, at the same time. Budapest, the capital of Hungary has 23 districts (, ), each with its own Municipality, municipal government. The number of districts in Budapest Budapest was organized into 10 districts (numbered from I to X) in 1873 after the unification of the cities of Pest (city), Pest, Buda and Óbuda. The districts at that time: *Buda: I, II *Óbuda: III *Pest: IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X In the 1930s, 4 new districts were organized, numbered from XI to XIV. The Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party ( , MKKP ) is a political party in Hungary. It was founded in Szeged in 2006, but did not register as an official political party until 2014. Momentum Movement
Momentum Movement (, Momentum) is a centrist Hungarian political party founded in March 2017. It came to national prominence as a political association in January 2017 after organizing a petition about the Budapest bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics, calling for a public referendum on the matter. The petition, which gathered over 266,151 signatures, was successful, but the government cancelled the Olympic bid before a referendum could have been held. After its establishment as a political party, Momentum quickly built a national following, and presently has approximately 4,000 members. The D'Hondt method, also called the Jefferson method or the greatest divisors method, is an apportionment method for allocating seats in parliaments among federal states, or in proportional representation among political parties.
