2023–24 Old Dominion Monarchs Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Old Dominion Monarchs men’s basketball team represented Old Dominion University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Monarchs were led by 11th-year head coach Jeff Jones for the first 9 games of the season before he stepped away from the team for health reasons on December 20. Special assistant coach Kieran Donohue took over head coaching duties for the remainder of the season. They played their home games at Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia as second-year members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 7–25, 3–15 in 2023–24 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball season, Sun Belt play to finish in fourteenth place in their conference. Jeff Jones (basketball)
Jeffrey Allen Jones (born June 29, 1960) is an American former college basketball player and coach. He was a four-year starter for the Virginia Cavaliers, helping his team to win an NIT title and reach the NCAA Final Four. He became an assistant coach and eventually the head coach at his ''alma mater'', with a tenure of eight years; he then coached the American Eagles for thirteen years; and the Old Dominion Monarchs for eleven years. In total, Jones was a head coach for thirty-two years, amassing a overall record and a winning record with each of his three programs, reaching the NCAA Tournament at each stop—including an Elite Eight run with Virginia in 1995. Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball
The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) representing the University of Dayton in Ohio. The Flyers play their home games at UD Arena, University of Dayton Arena. The Flyers are coached by Anthony Grant who is in his seventh season. Dayton has appeared 19 times in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament, most recently in 2024. The Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team represents the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, United States. The team currently competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. Buffalo began play in 1915 and joined the MAC in 1998.
