2023–24 Lech Poznań Season
The 2023–24 season is Lech Poznań's 102nd season in existence and the club's 22nd consecutive season in the top flight of Polish football. In addition to the domestic league, Lech Poznań participates in this season's edition of the Polish Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League. The season covers the period from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024. Lech Poznań plays their official home matches at the Stadion Miejski branded on 24 July 2023 as Enea Stadion for sponsorship reasons for four next seasons. Kolejowy Klub Sportowy Lech Poznań S.A., commonly referred to as KKS Lech Poznań or simply Lech Poznań (), is a Polish professional football club based in Poznań and currently competing in the Ekstraklasa, the nation's highest division. The club is named after Lech, the legendary founder of the Polish nation. The club was established on 19 March 1922 as ''KS Lutnia Dębiec'', later changing its name several times. Pogoń Szczecin Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Pogoń Szczecin (), is a Polish professional football club, based in Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, which plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top tier of the national football league system. Afonso Gamelas de Pinho Sousa (born 3 May 2000) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Ekstraklasa club Lech Poznań as a central midfielder. Club career Porto Born in Aveiro, Sousa returned to FC Porto's youth academy at the age of 13, after a first spell in 2009. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Jesper Kewe Karlström (born 21 June 1995) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ekstraklasa club Lech Poznań and the Sweden national team. Nils Erik Elias Andersson (born 31 January 1996) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a left-back or midfielder for Ekstraklasa club Lech Poznań. Club career Andersson started out as a youth player for his hometown club Hässleholms IF. Barry James Douglas (born 4 September 1989) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Ekstraklasa club Lech Poznań. Joel Vieira Pereira (born 28 September 1996) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Ekstraklasa club Lech Poznań. Club career Pereira was born in the village of Perosinho in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto District. Tomasz Mariusz Rząsa (; born 11 March 1973) is a Polish former professional footballer who primarily played as a left back and sometimes as a left midfielder. Denny Domingues Landzaat (born 6 May 1976) is a Dutch former footballer who mostly played as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder and current assistant manager of Ekstraklasa side Lech Poznań. Dariusz Dudka (; born 9 December 1983) is a retired Polish footballer. He played as a defensive midfielder or full-back and also as a centre-back. Grzegorz Wojtkowiak (; born 26 January 1984) is a Polish football coach and former player who is the current assistant manager of Lech Poznań.
