2023 Uruguayan Primera División Season
The 2023 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the Campeonato Uruguayo de Primera División 2023, was the 120th season of the Uruguayan Primera División, Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 93rd in which it is professional. The season, which was named "100 años del C.A. Cerro, Club Atlético Cerro", began on 4 February and ended on 16 December 2023. Liverpool F.C. (Montevideo), Liverpool won their first league title at the end of the season, defeating Peñarol in the finals by a 3–0 aggregate score. Club Nacional de Football, Nacional were the defending champions. 2024 Uruguayan Primera División Season
The 2024 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the Campeonato Uruguayo de Primera División 2024, was the 121st season of the Uruguayan Primera División, Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 94th in which it is professional. The season, which was named " 100 años de Colombes", began on 16 February and ended on 2 December 2024. Peñarol were the champions, winning their fifty-second league title after winning both the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura, as well as topping the season's aggregate table, which ensured that the championship playoff would not be played. Las Piedras is a city in the Canelones Department of Uruguay. As of the census of 2011, it is the seventh most populated city of the country. Centro Atlético Fénix is a Uruguayan sports club from Montevideo. The football team currently plays in Uruguayan Segunda División. Fénix is one of the most popular and traditional teams of Uruguay's 2nd Division, along with Racing Club de Montevideo, which is its all-time rival. The Segunda División Profesional is the second division of professional football in Uruguay, established in 1942. The league is sometimes referred to as ''Primera B''.
