2023 Tour Of The Basque Country
The 2023 Tour of the Basque Country (officially known as Itzulia Basque Country 2023) was a road cycling stage race that took place between 3 and 8 April 2023 in the titular region in northern Spain. It was the 62nd edition of the Tour of the Basque Country and the 15th race of the 2023 UCI World Tour. Teams All 18 UCI WorldTeams and five UCI ProTeams made up the 23 teams that participated in the race. All teams entered a full squad of seven riders. Amasa-Villabona
Amasa-Villabona is a village of over 5500 inhabitants in the ''Comarcas of the Basque Country, comarca'' of Tolosaldea, Gipuzkoa province, Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, Spain. It has an urban area, Villabona, close to the Oria River, and a rural area, Amasa, around which the village originally formed. Amasa-Villabona is located in the Oria Valley, in the foothills of Mount Gazume and Mount Uzturre. It is about from the provincial capital, San Sebastián. The village originally grew around the Amasa Quarter, in Amasa-Villabona's highest area. In 1619, both settlements set up a joint town council. The Parish Church of San Martín de Tours stands in Amasa. This church, built between the 16th and 18th centuries, has an interesting high altarpiece. Close by is the Hermitage of Santa Cruz, the first parish of the area. There are a great number of agrotourism lodgings offering endless activities. Errenteria
Errenteria ( eu, Errenteria/Orereta, es, Rentería) is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Autonomous Community, in the north of Spain, near the French border. The river Oiartzun cuts its way through the town, one that has undergone severe pollution up to recent times on its lower stage. History The town was founded in 1320, during the reign of Alfonso XI of Castile, with the name of ''Villanueva de Oiarso'' or ''Oyarço''. Ethan Hayter
Ethan Edward Hayter (born 18 September 1998) is a British racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Hayter started riding at Herne Hill Velodrome in 2012, aged 13. He raced for the VC Londres cycling club from 2012 to 2016, and remains an honorary member. In 2016 he joined British Cycling's Senior Academy squad, relinquishing his A-level studies in order to join the programme. He rode in the men's team pursuit event at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, winning a gold medal. In August 2018 it was reported that Hayter had joined as a ''stagiaire'' until the end of the year. That month he also competed at the European Track Championships in Glasgow, where he took bronze medals as part of the British team pursuit squad, the Madison pairing alongside Oliver Wood and an individual gold in the omnium.
