2023 TCU Horned Frogs Baseball Team
The 2023 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team represents Texas Christian University during the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Horned Frogs play their home games at Lupton Stadium as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They are led by head coach Kirk Saarloos, in his second year as head coach and eleventh season at TCU. Previous season The 2022 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team notched a 38-22 (16–8) record. They won the Big 12 regular season championship and advanced to the regionals of the 2022 NCAA tournament. Kirk Saarloos
Kirk Craig Saarloos (born May 23, 1979) is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the TCU Horned Frogs. He played college baseball at Cal State Fullerton for coach George Horton from 1999 to 2001 and played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for seven seasons from 2002 to 2008. The Houston Astros selected Saarloos in the third round of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. He played 7 years a pitcher in the MLB, with Houston from 2002 to 2003, the Oakland Athletics 2004 to 2006, Cincinnati Reds in 2007 before returning to Oakland in 2008. High school and college Saarloos graduated from Valley Christian High School in Cerritos, California, where he was a three-sport (baseball, football and soccer) athlete. Horner Ballpark is a baseball field in Dallas, Texas. It is the home park of the Dallas Baptist Patriots baseball team of the NCAA Division I Conference USA. It opened on February 15, 2013, and has been highly acclaimed by national media, including D1Baseball.com. The stadium is named for Joan and Andy Horner, who made the lead donation for the park.
