2023 State Of The Nation Address (Philippines)
The 2023 State of the Nation Address was the second State of the Nation Address delivered by President Bongbong Marcos on July 24, 2023, at the Batasang Pambansa Complex. Preparations On July 7, 2023, members of the Quezon City Police District conducted civil disturbance drills at Camp Karingal, Quezon City for the upcoming Second State of the Nation Address of President Bongbong Marcos. According to the Philippine National Police, the PNP would deploy around 22,000 security personnel around the Batasang Pambansa complex, and other critical areas around Metro Manila. Batasang Pambansa Complex
The Batasang Pambansa Complex, or simply the Batasan (), is the seat of the House of Representatives of the Philippines. It is located along the Batasan Road in Batasan Hills, Quezon City. The complex was initially the home of the Batasang Pambansa, the former legislature of the Philippines which was established as an interim assembly in 1978 and finally as an official body in 1984. Under the 1973 Constitution, it replaced the bicameral Congress of the Philippines established under the 1935 Commonwealth Constitution. When the bicameral Congress was restored in 1987, the complex was set aside as the home of the House of Representatives. The main building of the complex is still often referred to as the ''Batasang Pambansa''. Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Tesoro Go (; born June 14, 1974) is a Filipino politician serving as a Senator since 2019. He previously served in the Cabinet of President Rodrigo Duterte as Special Assistant to the President and Head of the Presidential Management Staff from June 2016 to October 2018. 2025 Bangsamoro Parliament Election
The 2025 Bangsamoro Parliament election is scheduled to take place in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on May 12 under the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the charter of the autonomous region of the Philippines. This election will be the first regular election for the Bangsamoro Parliament and was scheduled to be held in parallel with the 2022 Philippine general election. Elected officials would assumed office on June 30, 2025. They would succeed the interim Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament. The postponement of the elections from 2022 to 2025, was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and consequentially the absence of a Bangsamoro Electoral Code.
