2023 Pecos League Season
The 2023 Pecos League season was the 13th season of professional baseball in the Pecos League, an independent baseball league which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas and Texas, since its creation in August 2010. There are 16 Pecos League teams, split evenly between Mountain and Pacific divisions. The Roswell Invaders entered the season as the defending champions, having defeated the Tucson Saguaros, two games to one, in the league's 2022 championship series. Andrew Dunn returned as commissioner for the 2023 season. Season schedule The 16 teams in the league are split evenly between two divisions, Mountain and Pacific. The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is an independent professional baseball league headquartered in Houston, which operates in cities in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. The league plays in cities that do not have Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. The Pecos League season is a highly condensed one. Schedules vary, but teams have played as many as 70 games in 72 days, or 80 games in three months. The Monterey Amberjacks are a United States professional baseball team based in Monterey, California, which began play in 2017. The team is a member of the Pecos League, an independent baseball league which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. They play their home games at Frank E. Sollecito, Jr. Ballpark, surrounded by Lake El Estero, with the beach at Monterey Bay Park a short distance beyond the left field fence.
