2023 PGA Tour Canada
The 2023 PGA Tour Canada was the 37th and final season of the Canadian Tour, and the 10th under the operation and running of the PGA Tour. In April, the PGA Tour announced that the 2023 season would be the last, as from 2024 the tour would merge with PGA Tour Latinoamérica, creating PGA Tour Americas. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was titled as the Fortinet Cup and was based on tournament results during the season, calculated using a points-based system. The top five players on the Order of Merit earned status to play on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour. The Corps of Commissionaires refers to a global movement in Commonwealth countries of societies created to provide meaningful employment for veterans of the armed services. The Commissionaires movement traces its roots to 1859, when Captain Sir Edward Walter KCB organized seven disabled veterans of the Crimean War and Indian Mutiny to act as nightwatchmen. PGA Tour Canada, commonly referred to as the Canadian Tour, is a men's professional golf tour headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. The United States based PGA Tour took over operation of the tour on November 1, 2012, at which time it was renamed PGA Tour Canada. In 2015, Mackenzie Investments became the umbrella sponsor of the tour, branding it as the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada. PGA Tour Canada is one of three international PGA Tour-sanctioned tours, along with PGA Tour China and PGA Tour Latinoamérica. These provide access to the Korn Ferry Tour and are part of the path to the PGA Tour. Fortinet Cup Championship
The Fortinet Cup Championship is an annual professional golf tournament played in Canada. It is the season ending event on the PGA Tour Americas, having previously served the same function on the PGA Tour Canada, commonly known as the Canadian Tour. The PGA Tour Americas replaced the PGA Tour Canada and the PGA Tour Latinoamérica in 2024. The tournament was founded in 2002 as the Bay Mills Open, hosted at the Bay Mills Resort in Brimley, Michigan, United States, and became designated as the Canadian Tour's "Players Championship" the following year. In 2006, the tournament moved to Ontario, Canada as the new Canadian Tour Championship. It has since remained in Ontario, and adopted different names under various title sponsors.
