2023 Lasbela Bus Crash
On 29 January 2023, a bus carrying at least 43 people plunged into a ravine and caught fire in Bela Tehsil, Lasbela District, Balochistan, Pakistan. The crash initially killed 40 people and injured three, one of whom died shortly after. The two remaining survivors were in a "serious" condition. Crash The bus was en route to Karachi from Quetta when it crashed into a pillar of a bridge which led to its fall, according to Lasbela's assistant commissioner Hamza Anjum. Head of the local rescue service Asghar Ramazan told Agence France-Presse that the bus was "loaded with containers of oil." Most of the bodies of the dead were burned beyond recognition, and were taken to Karachi where DNA testing would be used to establish their identities. February 2023 Kallar Kahar Bus Accident
The 2023 Kallar Kahar bus accident occurred on 19 February 2023, near Kallar Kahar, Pakistan. The accident took place when a bus carrying a wedding party from Islamabad to Lahore lost control and fell into a ravine, killing at least 14 people and injuring 64 others. Background According to the rescue and police officials, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle when its brakes failed, and it collided with two cars coming from the opposite side of the Islamabad-Lahore motorway. 2014 Khairpur Bus Crash
On 11 November 2014, a bus traffic collision, collided with a truck at the Theri bypass (road), Bypass, near Khairpur, Sindh, Pakistan, killing 56 people. Accident A bus was travelling from Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Karachi, Sindh, when it collided with a truck at the Theri Bypass (which connects the Khairpur District, Khairpur and Sukkur Districts). The exact cause of the crash is not known. Initial reports by local media stated that the driver of the bus was trying to overtake another vehicle and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite side. However, according to a traffic police official, the bus was about to take to the road after getting fuel from a filling station when it hit a speeding truck. 2013 Pakistan Gas Bus Explosion
2013 Pakistan gas bus explosion occurred on 25 May 2013 after a gas cylinder exploded in a school minivan heading towards Gujrat District, Gujrat in Pakistan. The blast killed at least 17 people, including 16 children and a bus driver and another 7 children were wounded. The children were aged between 6 and 12. Cause The fire was reportedly caused by a spark when the driver of the dual-fuel bus switched from gas to petrol.
