2022–23 UC Riverside Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 UC Riverside Highlanders men's basketball team represented the University of California, Riverside in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by third-year head coach Mike Magpayo, played their home games at SRC Arena in Riverside, California as members of the Big West Conference. Previous season The Highlanders finished the 2021–22 season 16–12, 9–6 in Big West play, to finish in sixth place. They were defeated by Hawaii in the first round of the Big West tournament. Mike Magpayo
Mike Magpayo (born November 9, 1979) is an American men's college basketball head coach for the Fordham Rams men's basketball, Fordham Rams. In July 2020, Magpayo became the first NCAA Division I men's basketball List of coaches of Asian heritage in sports leagues in the United States and Canada, head coach of full Asian heritage. Early life Magpayo is a native of Hacienda Heights, California. He attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating with a degree in business economics in 2001. He was a high school basketball coach from 2001 to 2010. Magpayo also served as the CEO of a multi-million dollar real estate company in Southern California. Blue Ridge School (formerly The Blue Ridge Industrial School) is an independent, all-male boarding school for students grades 9-12 located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Saint George, Virginia, United States.
