2022–23 FC Basel Season
The 2022–23 season was FC Basel's 129th season in their existence and the club's 28th consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football since their promotion in the 1993–94 season. The 2022–23 Swiss Super League season started on 16th July 2022 and ended on 29 May 2023. In addition to the Swiss Super League, Basel also participated in this season's edition of the Swiss Cup, reaching the semi-finals. Basel also qualified for the second edition of the UEFA Europa Conference League, beginning play in the second qualifying round and qualifying for the group stage, which they advanced from, eventually reaching the semi-finals of the competition before being knocked out 4–3 on aggregate by Fiorentina. Davide Callà (born 6 October 1984) is a Swiss professional football coach and a former player of Italian descent who played as midfielder. He is currently the assistant manager of FC Basel. From 1 June 2025, he will become the assistant of Switzerland national football team head coach Murat Yakin. Andrea Rocco Padula (born 4 April 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a left back for Liga I club UTA Arad. Albian Hajdari (born 18 May 2003) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as defender for Swiss Super League club Lugano. Club career Hajdari first played for local club FC Aesch and moved to Basel's youth academy in 2014. Massimo Colomba (born 24 August 1977) is a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeper coach of both FC Sion.
