The 2022 Phoenix Rising FC season was the club's ninth season in the USL Championship and their sixth as Rising FC. The season ran from March 12 thru October 15. For the first time as Phoenix Rising FC, the team failed to make the playoffs. Phoenix Rising Football Club is an American professional soccer team based in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2014 as Arizona United Soccer Club, the team is a member of the USL Championship. History On March 13, 2014, Kyle Eng, owner of an advertising agency, launched the franchise and named it Arizona United SC. It took the place of Phoenix FC, which folded the previous day, in the USL Pro league. 2014 season In just 178 days after the franchise was awarded by the USL Pro, Arizona United hired a front office staff and coach, put together a roster, secured a stadium, played 28 regular season games, reached the fourth round of the US Open Cup and was in contention for a playoff spot until the next-to-last week of the season. The 2023 Phoenix Rising FC season was the club's tenth season in the USL Championship and their seventh as Rising FC. This season ended with Phoenix Rising winning their first USL Championship through the USLC Playoffs by winning 3–2 on penalty shootouts after a 1–1 tie after extra time against the Charleston Battery. Dániel Sallói (; born 19 July 1996) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays as a striker and winger for Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City and the Hungary national team. Club career Youth Sallói worked his way through the youth ranks of Nemzeti Bajnokság I club Újpest FC in his home town of Budapest, Hungary beginning in 2005. He was a member of the U16, U17, and U21 sides between 2011 and 2014. He was named the U16 and U17 academy Player of the Year during his one season with each team. Santiago "Santi" Moar Sánchez (born 5 September 1993) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a forward for New Mexico United in the USL Championship. Moar is most frequently utilized as a left winger. Playing career Youth and college Moar played three years of college soccer at Pfeiffer University between 2014 and 2016, including a redshirted year in 2014. He made a total of 45 appearances, scoring 24 goals in his time at Pfeiffer. While at college, Moar also appeared for Premier Development League side Charlotte Eagles in 2016. Luis Manuel Seijas Gunther (born 23 June 1986) is a Venezuelan footballer who plays as a midfielder for Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship Club career After a successful run with the Venezuelan youth squads Seijas was taken to Banfield in Argentina and later made a big impact in his home country with Deportivo Táchira and later was taken to Santa Fe that was looking to rebuild their team after finishing last in the Colombian league. Kino Sports Complex
Kino Sports Complex is a multiple-use sports complex in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox formerly utilized the complex's main ballpark, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, for Cactus League games each March and had their minor league complexes on-site. The ballpark was also home to the Tucson Sidewinders of the Pacific Coast League for the team's last decade in Tucson, running from the stadium's 1998 opening season to the 2008 season. The ballpark was a temporary home (2011–2013) to the Tucson Padres (formerly the Portland Beavers) of the Pacific Coast League during the team's relocation to El Paso, Texas. Arturo Rodríguez (born 15 December 1998) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for USL Championship club Phoenix Rising. Career Youth Rodriguez started his youth career with FC Dallas. However, his road through the academy system was not cut and dried. Rodriguez was actually rejected the first time he tried to join the FC Dallas academy.
