Åžennur Demir
Åžennur Demir (born 10 August 1982) is aTurkish boxing coach and retired world champion female boxer competed in the heavyweight (+81 kg) division. She is from Bartın. Early years in martial arts Demir started her sport career performing kickboxing at the age of 25. She became Turkish kickboxing champion, then runner-up in the Full contact karate World championships. A second place in an international boxing tournament and champion titles in the Turkish Boxing Championships followed. Boxing career Her boxing career became solid when she transferred to Fenerbahçe Boxing in Istanbul. As well as a kickboxer, she turned pro in 2011 after she won the golden belt national title in K-1. Khadija El-Mardi
Khadija Mardi (born 1 February 1991), also known as Khadija El Mardi, is a Moroccan boxer. She is the current Heavyweight women's IBA World Boxing Champion. Career Mardi competed in the women's middleweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She lost to Dariga Shakimova in the quarter-finals. She qualified to represent Morocco at the 2020 Summer Olympics, however, she withdrew from the competition for medical reasons. In 2022, Mardi won the gold medal at the 2022 African Amateur Boxing Championships. She won silver medal at the 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, after losing the final match against Åžennur Demir. In March 2023, Mardi won a gold medal in the 2023 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships, thus winning her and Morocco's first women's gold medal in the IBA World Boxing Championships. 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships
The 2022 IBA Women's World Boxing Championships (the 12th edition of the championships) was held in Istanbul, Turkey from 8 to 20 May 2022. Medal winners were awarded prize money; gold medallists earn $100,000, silver medallists $50,000, and bronze medallists $25,000. The overall prize fund was $2.4 million. The programme was extended from 10 to 12 weight categories.
