Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour, currently titled as the HotelPlanner Tour for sponsorship reasons and also sometimes referred to as the European Challenge Tour, is the second-tier men's professional golf tour in Europe. It is operated by the PGA European Tour and similarly with the main European Tour and the European Senior Tour, some of the events are played outside Europe. History The tour was introduced in 1986, when the national tours of Sweden, France and Italy became open to foreign players, and was initially called the Satellite Tour. The Order of Merit was introduced in 1989, with the top five players on it winning membership of the European Tour for the following season. The following year the tour was renamed the Challenge Tour, a name already used in 1989. Up to 1993 the Challenge Tour rankings were based on each player's best several results, but since 1994 it has been a straightforward money list, with all results counting. Todd Clements
Todd Clements (born 29 August 1996) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the D+D Real Czech Masters in August 2023. Professional career Clements turned professional in 2018 and played on the PGA EuroPro Tour in 2019. He won the IFX Payments Championship in May and the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa event in August. He finished fifth on the Order of Merit, earning a card for the 2020 Challenge Tour season, and improved his Challenge Tour status by making the cut at the European Tour Qualifying School. 2022 European Tour Qualifying School Graduates
The 2022 European Tour Qualifying School graduates were determined following the conclusion of the 2022 European Tour (DP World Tour) Qualifying School Final Stage which was played 11–16 November at Infinitum Golf in Tarragona, Spain. It was the 45th edition of the European Tour Qualifying School. The top 25 and ties (28 in total) earned status to play on the 2023 European Tour, with the remaining players who finished outside the top 25 and ties, but having made the 72-hole cut, earning status to play on the 2023 Challenge Tour. Simon Forsström won the event, scoring a six-round total of 399 (29 under par). It was also the first time since 2019 that European Tour Qualifying School had been staged, having not been staged in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Vincent Norrman
Vincent Oliver Norrman (born 24 December 1997) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. He won the 2023 Barbasol Championship, as well as the 2023 Horizon Irish Open. As an amateur, he was part of the Swedish team winning the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship. Early life Norrman was born on Christmas Eve and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, with his parents Eva and Claes and his sister Vendela. He has represented Haninge Golf Club through his career and been a club mate of tournament professionals and European Tour winners Alex Norén and Kristoffer Broberg. Barbasol Championship
The ISCO Championship is a professional golf tournament in Kentucky on the PGA Tour; it debuted in 2015 as the Barbasol Championship, an alternate event to the Genesis Scottish Open in July. The first three editions of the tournament were played in Alabama at the Grand National course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Opelika, northeast of Auburn. It was the first PGA Tour event played in Alabama since the PGA Championship in 1990. In 2018, the tournament moved to Kentucky to the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, south of Lexington, and was the first PGA Tour event (excluding majors) in the state in 59 years, since the Kentucky Derby Open in 1959. Nathan Kimsey
Nathan Kimsey (born 21 March 1993) is an English professional golfer. In 2022, he won the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final and the Challenge Tour Rankings. Amateur career Kimsey, from Woodhall Spa Golf Club in Lincolnshire, were an integral part of the England squad between 2010 and 2013. Karl Simon Forsström (born 1 April 1989) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour, where he has won once. Amateur career Forsström played for AIK Golf Club. Soudal Open
The Belgian Open is a men's golf tournament which has been played intermittently from 1910 to 2000. All editions since 1978 have been part of the European Tour. After not having been played since 2000, it returned in 2018 as the Belgian Knockout, hosted by PietersProductions, along with its co-founder, Belgian professional golfer Thomas Pieters. With a prize pool set at €1 million, 144 professional golfers start the competition with 36 holes of stroke play, followed by 9-hole match play for the top 64 finishers from the stroke play rounds. Jens Morgan Dantorp (born 28 April 1989) is a Swedish professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. He has won three times on the Challenge Tour and was runner-up at the 2023 Soudal Open. Professional career Early years Dantorp was born in Malmö in 1998 and attended Malmö Idrottsakademi. He turned professional after graduating in 2008 and honed his game on the Nordic Golf League, rather than taking the popular U.S college route. Thriston Lawrence (born 3 December 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He has won four times on the European Tour. Investec South African Open Championship
The South African Open is one of the oldest national open golf championships in the world, having first been played in 1903, and is one of the principal tournaments on the Southern-Africa-based Sunshine Tour. Since 1997 it has also been co-sanctioned by the European Tour. Clément Sordet
Clément Sordet (born 22 October 1992) is a French professional golfer. Sordet played college golf at Texas Tech where he won six times. After graduating in 2015 and playing in the Palmer Cup, Sordet turned professional. He began playing on the Challenge Tour. In August 2015, he won his first tournament as a professional, at the Northern Ireland Open, playing on a national invitation. It was only his fourth event as a professional. Sordet finished 2015 by finishing joint runner-up in the Thailand Golf Championship. This was one of the Open Qualifying Series and gained him entry to the 2016 Open Championship.
