2022 Central Pulse Season
The 2022 Central Pulse season saw the Central Pulse netball team compete in the 2022 ANZ Premiership season, 2022 ANZ Premiership. With a team coached by Yvette McCausland-Durie, co-captained by Kelly Jury and Tiana Metuarau and featuring Aliyah Dunn, Erikana Pedersen and Whitney Souness, Central Pulse won their third title. Pulse finished the regular season as minor premiers, finishing above Northern Stars and Northern Mystics. Pulse defeated Stars 56–37 in the Grand final. Yvette McCausland-Durie
Yvette McCausland-Durie is a New Zealand netball coach and former netball player. As a player, she played for Western Flyers during the National Bank Cup era and represented New Zealand at under-21 level. She was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 1992 World Youth Netball Championships. As a head coach, McCausland-Durie guided Central Pulse to the 2019 and 2020 ANZ Premierships and the 2018 Super Club title. She has also worked with the senior New Zealand team as an assistant coach and with the under-21 team as a head coach. She was head coach when New Zealand won gold at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships. McCausland-Durie is also a schoolteacher and educator. Kristiana Manu'a
Kristiana Manu'a (born 3 September 1995) is a New Zealand-born Australian netball player in the ANZ Premiership, playing for the Central Pulse. Manu'a was born in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand, though moved with family to Liverpool, New South Wales as a baby. She began her netball career back in New Zealand in 2015, playing for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic under head coach Julie Fitzgerald. Despite representing Australia at underage level, Manu'a was approached by Netball New Zealand officials to represent the New Zealand national team during her time at the Magic. She remained an Australian player however and made her debut for the Australian Diamonds in the 2016 Quad Series. Waimarama Taumaunu
Waimarama Taumaunu (born 18 October 1962), often known as Wai Taumaunu, is a New Zealand netball coach and former international netball player. Biography Taumaunu was born in Waipawa, New Zealand. She was a member of New Zealand's national netball team, the Silver Ferns, from 1981 to 1991. During that time, she played in the team that won the 1987 Netball World Championships, and was also captain of the team in the last three years of her international career. In 1998, Taumaunu was appointed as national performance director for All England Netball, and remained in that role until 2003. During that time she was also the assistant coach for the England national team in their 2003 Netball World Championships campaign. In 2007, Taumaunu was the head coach of the Capital Shakers in the National Bank Cup. Maddy Gordon
Maddy Gordon (born 16 January 2000) is a New Zealand netball international. She was a member of the New Zealand teams that won the 2021 Constellation Cup and the 2022 Taini Jamison Trophy Series. She also represented New Zealand at the 2023 Netball World Cup. Gordon was also a prominent member of the Central Pulse teams that won the 2019, 2020 and 2022 ANZ Premiership titles. Early life, family and education Gordon was born and bred in Whangārei. She is the daughter of Carolyn and David Gordon. She stayed in Whangārei until she was 16. 2022 Netball Superleague Season
The 2022 Netball Superleague season was the seventeenth season of the Netball Superleague, the elite domestic netball competition in the United Kingdom. Loughborough Lightning were the defending champions, as they won the 2021 season. The season began on 5 February, and ended with the grand final on 5 June. Manchester Thunder were the first team to qualify for the finals series, after they secured their place on 17 April. Loughborough Lightning qualified for the final series on 2 May. London Pulse qualified for the final series on 14 May. Team Bath were the final team to qualify for the final series, doing so on 21 May. The semi-finals took place on 3 June, with Manchester Thunder and Loughborough Lightning advancing to the grand final. Te Amo Amaru-Tibble
Te Amo Amaru-Tibble (born 11 May 1989) is a New Zealand netball player who has had three spells playing for Central Pulse. She first played for Pulse between 2009 and 2011, during the ANZ Championship era. In 2016 and 2017, she had a second spell. In 2021, Amaru-Tibble returned to Pulse for a third time. Early life, family and education Amaru-Tibble is a Māori with Ngāti Porou affiliations. She was born in Wellington. She is a distant cousin of Aliyah Dunn. They had never met before becoming 2021 Central Pulse teammates. Saracens Mavericks is an English netball team based at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield. Their senior team plays in the Netball Superleague. In 2005–06 they were founder members of the league. They were Superleague champions in 2007–08 and 2011. Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic are a New Zealand netball team based in Hamilton. Between 1999 and 2007, they played in the Coca-Cola Cup/National Bank Cup league. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017, Magic have represented Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty in the ANZ Premiership. Ameliaranne Ekenasio (née Wells; born 11 January 1991) is an Australian-born, New Zealand netball player. She currently plays for Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in the ANZ Premiership. Ekenasio is known for her high work rate and smooth long-range shooting. Ekenasio made her New Zealand debut in the 2014 Constellation Cup against Australia. She missed the 2017 season due to the birth of her son Ocean, but returned to take a full part in 2018. National Netball League (New Zealand)
The National Netball League is a New Zealand netball league. Since 2016 it has served as a second-level league, initially below the ANZ Championship and later below the ANZ Premiership. It is organised by Netball New Zealand. Between 2016 and 2020, due to sponsorship and naming rights arrangements, the NNL was known as the Beko Netball League.
