2022 Carlow Senior Hurling Championship
The 2022 Carlow Senior Hurling Championship was the 93rd staging of the Carlow Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Carlow County Board in 1927. The draw for the opening round fixtures was made on 24 March 2022. The championship ran from 17 June to 7 August 2022. Mount Leinster Rangers were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Bagenalstown Gaels in the semi-final. The final was played on 7 August 2022 at Netwatch Cullen Park in Carlow, between St Mullin's and Bagenalstown Gaels, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. St Mullin's won the match by 2–22 to 0–11 to claim their 28th championship title overall and a first title in three years. Evan Kealy was the championship's top scorer with 3-46. Carlow ( ; ) is the county town of County Carlow, in the south-east of Republic of Ireland, Ireland, from Dublin. Fiach O'Toole
Fiach O'Toole (born 2002) is an Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Naomh Bríd, while he has also lined out at inter-county level with various Carlow teams. Career O'Toole first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Naomh Bríd club in Leighlinbridge. He subsequently progressed to adult level and was part of the club's intermediate team that won the Carlow IHC title in 2021. O'Toole first appeared on the inter-county scene with Carlow during a two-year tenure with the minor team in 2018 and 2019. He later spent a number of seasons with the under-20 team and was the team's top scorer in 2022. By this stage, O'Toole had already joined the Carlow senior hurling team. He came on as a substitute when Carlow beat Offaly in extra-time to claim the Joe McDonagh Cup title in 2023. Craig Doyle (hurler)
Craig Doyle (born 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays as a full-forward for the Carlow senior team. Born in Bagenalstown, County Carlow, Doyle first played competitive hurling whilst at school in the Presentation De La Salle College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Carlow minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2007 Christy Ring Cup. Doyle has been a regular fixture on team since that initial appearance, and has won two Christy Ring Cup medals and one National League (Division 2A) medal. Doyle represented the Ireland national hurling team on a number of occasions, winning his sole Composite rules shinty–hurling medal in 2011. Dr Cullen Park
Dr Cullen Park, known for sponsorship reasons as Netwatch Cullen Park, is a GAA stadium in Carlow, County Carlow, Ireland. It is the home of the Carlow Gaelic football and hurling teams. It has a capacity of 11,000. History The ground's establishment was first mooted in 1935. Dr Cullen Park was officially opened on 9 August 1936 by Patrick McNamee of the GAA. A total expenditure of £3,590 and 15 shillings was accounted for at the first audit. This sum included the purchase of the land. Dr Cullen Park was officially opened on Sunday 9 August 1936. Carlow Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Carlow Intermediate Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh Intermediate Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Carlow IHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Carlow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association from 1984 for the second tier hurling teams in the county of Carlow in Ireland. In its current format, the Carlow Intermediate Championship begins with a group stage in mid-summer. The five participating club teams play each other in a round-robin system. The four top-ranking teams proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final match at Netwatch Cullen Park. The 2019 Carlow Senior Hurling Championship was the 90th staging of the Carlow Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Carlow County Board in 1927. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 27 February 2019. Mount Leinster Rangers entered the championship as the defending champions. The final was played on 20 October 2019 at Netwatch Cullen Park, between St Mullin's and Mount Leinster Rangers, in what was their eighth meeting in the final overall and a second successive meeting.
