2021–22 Purdue Boilermakers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Matt Painter in his 17th season with the Boilermakers. The Boilermakers played their home games at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana as members of the Big Ten Conference. Matt Painter
Matthew Curtis Painter (born August 27, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the men's basketball coach at Purdue University, having held that position since 2005. Before Purdue, Painter held coaching positions at Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Barton College, and Washington & Jefferson College. Painter runs a motion offense. Painter's teams are also known for their "stout, stingy, defense" and their "overwhelming offense." Since taking the helm at Purdue, Painter's teams have consistently placed in the top 15 of offensive and defensive efficiency nationally. With Painter at the helm, Purdue teams have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times, with six Sweet-Sixteen appearances, and 1 Elite Eight appearance. Caleb Furst
Caleb Martin Furst (born May 18, 2002) is an American college basketball player for the Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten Conference. High school career Furst played basketball for Blackhawk Christian School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He won a Class A state title as a sophomore. In his junior season, Furst averaged 22.1 points, 13.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and two blocks per game, helping Blackhawk achieve a 23–3 record. As a senior, he averaged 21.4 points, 14.1 rebounds, three assists and 2.2 blocks per game, leading his team to a 28–3 record and the Class 2A state championship.
