2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2021 WJHC'') was the 45th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 25 December 2020 to 5 January 2021. This marked the 16th time that Canada hosted the WJIHC. Rogers Place
Rogers Place is a multi-use indoor arena in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Construction started in March 2014, and the building officially opened on September 8, 2016. The arena has a seating capacity of 18,347 as a ice hockey, hockey venue and 20,734 as a concert venue. It replaced Northlands Coliseum (opened 1974) as the home of the National Hockey League, NHL's Edmonton Oilers and the Western Hockey League, WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings. The arena is in the block between 102 and 104 Streets and 104 and 105 Avenues. Public transit access to the arena is provided by the Edmonton LRT system (MacEwan station on the Metro Line) and Edmonton Transit Service bus. The 1995 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''1995 WJHC'') was the 19th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship and was hosted in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada with games held throughout central Alberta. The host Canadians won their third straight gold medal, and its eighth overall, while Russia won silver, and Sweden the bronze. Final standings The 1995 tournament was a round-robin format, with the top three teams winning gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. It was the last tournament, to use this round-robin format. Albin Grewe
Albin Grewe (born 22 March 2001) is a Swedish professional ice hockey right winger currently playing with Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Hockey League. He was selected 66th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Grewe began his youth and professional career playing for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Following his selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Red Wings, Grewe remained in Sweden for his second season in the SHL with Djurgården in 2019–20, posting 1 goal in 19 games. With the intention to further develop his game to the North American style, Grewe nominated and was selected in the second round, 112th overall, by the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL in the 2020 CHL Import Draft. William Wallinder
William Wallinder (born 28 July 2002) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 32nd overall by the Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Karl Henriksson (born 5 February 2001) is a Swedish ice hockey centre for the Växjö Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was selected in the second round, 58th overall pick, of the 2019 NHL entry draft by the New York Rangers. Playing career In the 2018–19 season Henriksson led Frölunda HC J20 in scoring with 49 points on 13 goals and 36 assists. William Eklund (born 12 October 2002) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Eklund made his debut in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) on 4 January 2020, playing for Djurgårdens IF in a 4–2 win away against IK Oskarshamn. He played a total of 20 regular season games and scoring two points during the rest of the 2019–20 SHL season. He collected five points in his first eight games in the 2020–21 SHL season. Tomas Montén
Jan Tomas Montén (born 2 November 1977) is a Swedish professional ice hockey coach. He was formerly the head coach for Sweden men's national junior ice hockey team. Montén previously shared the position as head coach for Djurgårdens IF in the Swedish Hockey League along with Mikael Johansson during the 2008–09 Elitserien season, and also worked as assistant coach in Djurgården to Hans Särkijärvi during the 2007–08 season and to Hardy Nilsson from 2009 to 2012. The 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs was the playoff tournament of the National Hockey League (NHL) for the 2019–20 season.
