The 2021 Rio Grande Valley FC Toros season was the 6th season for Rio Grande Valley FC Toros in USL Championship (USLC), the second-tier professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. Rio Grande Valley FC Toros
Rio Grande Valley FC, also known as RGVFC or Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, was an American professional soccer team based in Edinburg, Texas, Edinburg, Texas operated by Lone Star, LLC. They joined the USL Championship in the 2016 season. The team served as a hybrid affiliate of the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer. Chris Canetti, Houston Dynamo president, called the relationship "an important and necessary step." The hybrid affiliation, a first for the USL, meant that the Dynamo would be responsible for the soccer operation of the club, selecting players and coaching staff. The ownership group, Lone Star, was responsible for operations and day-to-day management of the club. Toyota Field is a soccer-specific stadium in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Located next to Heroes Stadium, and adjacent to the STAR Soccer Complex and Morgan's Wonderland, the facility opened on April 13, 2013. The stadium is the home of San Antonio FC and has a capacity of 8,296 for soccer matches and 13,000 for concerts and festivals. Southwest University Park
Southwest University Park is a ballpark in El Paso, Texas. It is the home of the El Paso Chihuahuas, a Minor League Baseball team in the Pacific Coast League, and El Paso Locomotive FC, a second-tier USL Championship team since its inaugural season in 2019. Opened in 2014, the facility has an official capacity of 9,500, with 7,500 fixed seats, with the rest being berm and party deck standing room sections. Baboucarr Njie (born 5 June 1995) is a Gambian professional footballer who currently plays for the Gambia national team. Club career Njie played college soccer at North Carolina Wesleyan College for two consecutive seasons, skipping 2018 and returning for his junior year in 2019. San Diego Loyal Soccer Club was an American professional soccer team based in San Diego, California, that competed in the USL Championship. The team was founded by Warren Smith and Landon Donovan; it made its debut in 2020 as an expansion team. The team played its home games at Torero Stadium.
