2021 New York City Borough President Elections
The 2021 New York City borough president elections were held on November 2, 2021. Four of the five incumbent borough presidents were unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Only the Queens borough president was eligible to seek re-election after winning a special election in 2020 (and won re-election). Jessica Ramos (born June 27, 1985) is an American politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, she has represented District 13, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights, in the New York State Senate since 2019. Ramos was a candidate in the Democratic primary for mayor of New York City in the 2025 mayoral election; her campaign began in September 2024. Yuh-Line Niou (; zh, t=牛毓琳, p=Niú Yùlín; born July 15, 1983) is an American politician who served as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 65th district.
