The 2021 Mountain West Conference football season, part of this year's NCAA Division I FBS football season was the 23rd season of college football for the Mountain West Conference (MW). Since 2012, 12 teams have competed in the Mountain West Conference. The season began on August 28, 2021 and ended on December 28, 2021. The entire schedule was released on March 5, 2021. Previous season The San Jose State Spartans defeated the Boise State Broncos 34–20 in the 2020 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game at Sam Boyd Stadium in Whitney, Nevada. The 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the 152nd season of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision. The regular season began on August 28, 2021, and ended on December 11, 2021. The postseason began on December 17, with the main games ending on January 10, 2022, with the College Football Playoff National Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and the all-star portion of the post-season concluding with the inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl on February 19, 2022. It was the eighth season of the College Football Playoff (CFP) system. Chad Muma
Chad Tyler Muma (born August 18, 1999) is an American professional football linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Wyoming Cowboys and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Early life Muma grew up in Lone Tree, Colorado. He was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes while in the seventh grade after losing 30 pounds. He also won homecoming king, Mr. Titan, in 2017. Cameron Thomas (born July 1, 2000) is an American professional football defensive end for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). The Chuck Bednarik Award is presented annually to the defensive player of the year in college football as judged by the Maxwell Football Club to be the best in the United States. The award is named for Chuck Bednarik, a former college and professional American football player. Voters for the Maxwell College Awards are NCAA head college football coaches, members of the Maxwell Football Club, and sportswriters and sportscasters from across the country. Nicholas Starkel (born February 24, 1998) is an American former college football quarterback who played at Texas A&M University, the University of Arkansas, and San Jose State University. Early life Starkel was born in Pittsburgh to Wendy and Murray Starkel. Romeo Izziyh Doubs ( ; born April 13, 2000) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Carson Brown Strong (born September 14, 1999) is a former American football quarterback. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, and was also a member of the Arizona Cardinals and Michigan Panthers. He played college football at Nevada. Early life Strong was born on September 14, 1999, in Vacaville, California. He later attended Will C. Wood High School, where he passed for 2,732 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (commonly referred to simply as The Cosmopolitan or The Cosmo) is a resort casino and hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.
