2020–21 Cal State Northridge Matadors Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Cal State Northridge Matadors men's basketball team represented California State University, Northridge in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Matadors, led by third-year head coach Mark Gottfried, played their home games at the Matadome in Northridge, California as members of the Big West Conference. Previous season The Matadors finished the 2019–20 season 15–17, 10–6 in Big West play to finish in a tie for second place. They were set to be the No. 2 seed in the Big West tournament, and face Cal State Fullerton, however, the tournament was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Mark Frederick Gottfried (born January 20, 1964) is an American men's college basketball coach (basketball), coach, basketball podcaster, and former player who most recently served as head coach of the Cal State Northridge Matadors men's basketball, Cal State Northridge Matadors. Gottfried played one season at Oral Roberts Golden Eagles men's basketball, Oral Roberts and three seasons at Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball, Alabama, advancing to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, Sweet Sixteen in each of his seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Crimson Tide. Leuzinger High School
Leuzinger High School is a public high school (9th through 12th grades) in Lawndale, California, United States. It opened on January 27, 1931, with an enrollment of 268. It was named after Adolph Leuzinger in recognition of his 25 years of service on the board of trustees of the Inglewood Union High School District. Pasadena High School (PHS) is a public high school in Pasadena, California. It is one of four high schools in the Pasadena Unified School District. History The school was first established as a district school in 1884 and became Pasadena High School in 1891. The La Salle Explorers men's basketball program represents La Salle University in college basketball. La Salle plays as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, having joined in 1995. The Explorers were NCAA national champions in 1954, with future Hall of Famer Tom Gola being named the tournament's most outstanding player. Cypress, California
Cypress is a city in northwestern Orange County, California. Its population was 50,151 as of the 2020 census. History Cypress originally was nicknamed "Waterville" due to the preponderance of artesian wells in the area, but was incorporated under the name Dairy City in 1956 by local dairy farmers as a means of staving off developers and to preserve their dairies, much like the then-neighboring cities of Dairy Valley in Cerritos and Dairyland in La Palma.
