2020 U.S. Olympic Trials (gymnastics)
The 2020 U.S. Olympic gymnastics team trials were held June 24–27, 2021 at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. At the conclusion of the event, USA Gymnastics named both the men's and women's team to represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Venue In April 2019 USA Gymnastics announced that the 2020 Olympic trials would be held in St. Louis, Missouri and take place at the Enterprise Center. The event was originally scheduled for June 25–28, 2020. In March 2020 the Olympic Games were postponed until summer 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In July USA Gymnastics announced the new dates for the Olympic trials as June 24–27, 2021. In May 2021 USA Gymnastics announced that the venue had changed to The Dome at America's Center due to current arena capacity limits and other COVID-related challenges. United States Olympic Trials (gymnastics)
The United States Olympic team trials in gymnastics are held before every Summer Olympic Games to select the participants for the US Olympic gymnastics team. The event is overseen by the United States Olympic Committee and run by USA Gymnastics. The first Olympic trials were held in 1960 in West Point, New York, to select athletes for the Gymnastics at the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. The men's and women's trials have been held both separately and then as one event. Many of the early results are hard to come by as they were not recorded or published to the public. Skye Blakely
Skye Amiel Blakely (born February 4, 2005) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the teams who won gold at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships, silver at the 2022 Pan American Championships, and bronze at the inaugural Junior World Championships. Early life Blakely was born to Steven and Stephanie Blakely in 2005 in Dallas, Texas and has one older sister, gymnast Sloane Blakely. She began gymnastics in 2008. Junior gymnastics career 2018 In early 2018 Blakely competed at the Buckeye National Qualifier and the WOGA Classic, where she placed sixth in the all-around. She later competed at International Gymnix where she placed fifteenth in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars. Kayla Kecia DiCello ( or or ) (born January 25, 2004) is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 World bronze medalist and the 2023 Pan American Games champion in the all-around. On the junior level, she is the 2019 Junior World vault champion and the 2019 U.S. Junior national all-around champion. The Oregon State Beavers women's gymnastics team represents Oregon State University in NCAA women's artistic gymnastics, competing at the Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon. History The program began in 1966; competing the first time in 1967, with Sylvia Moore taking the lead as the first gymnastics coach of the modern era of Oregon State.
