2020 Speedway Grand Prix Of Poland
The 2020 FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland was the first, second, third, fourth, seventh and eighth rounds of the 2020 Speedway Grand Prix season (the World Championship). The calendar of events was severely disrupted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore Poland held six rounds of the eight rounds of the 2020 World Championship. With the exception of the Czech Republic, all of the scheduled rounds to be held in other countries were cancelled. The first two rounds took place on 28 & 29 August 2020 at the Olympic Stadium (Wrocław), Olympic Stadium in Wrocław. The third and fourth rounds were held on 11 and 12 September at the Edward Jancarz Stadium in Gorzów Wielkopolski and finally the last two rounds were held on 2 & 3 October MotoArena Toruń in Toruń. The Olympic Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Wrocław, Poland. It is the home stadium of Motorcycle speedway, speedway team Sparta Wrocław and American football team Panthers Wrocław. The stadium has a capacity now of 11,000 people and was supposed to be one of the main pitches on UEFA Euro 2012. Leon Daniel Madsen (born 5 September 1988) is a Danish speedway rider who is twice a World Championship silver medalist. Career Born in Vejle, Madsen won the 80cc junior World Championship in 2001. In 2018, Madsen won the Individual Speedway European Championship for the first time. Speedway career Chugunov won a bronze medal at the Speedway World Cup in the 2017 Speedway World Cup.
