2020 Georgia (U.S. State) Elections
Several elections took place in the U.S state of Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia in 2020. The general election was held on November 3, 2020, and the runoff on January 5, 2021. A combined partisan primary for president and all other offices on the ballot was held on June 9, 2020, with a primary runoff held on August 11. To Postal voting in the United States, vote by mail, registered Georgia voters must have requested a ballot by October 30, 2020. By early October some 1,589,147 voters requested mail ballots. Following the November 3, 2020 general election, voters whose mail-in ballots were rejected could make corrections ("Ballot curing, cure") until 5 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020. Kwanza Hall (born May 1, 1971) is an American politician and businessman who briefly served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 5th congressional district. He previously served as a member of the Atlanta City Council for the 2nd district. He was first elected in 2005 and re-elected in 2009. Sarah Hawkins Warren
Sarah Hawkins Warren (born 1981 or 1982) is an American lawyer and judge serving as the presiding justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia since 2025. She was originally appointed to the Supreme Court as an associate justice by Governor Nathan Deal on August 22, 2018, to fill the vacancy created when Britt Grant was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) is a statutory organ of the state government of Georgia; elected among five commission districts, the board consists of a Chairman, a Vice-chairman, and three Commissioners. John Hardy Isakson (December 28, 1944 – December 19, 2021) was an American businessman and politician who served as a United States senator from Georgia from 2005 until his resignation in 2019 following health concerns.
