2020 Europe's Strongest Man
The 2020 Europe's Strongest Man was a strongman competition that took place in Harrogate, England from 5–6 September 2020 at the Allerton Castle. This event was held behind closed door due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Defending champion Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson did not defend his title as in August 2020 he announced his retirement from the sport of strongman. Europe's Strongest Man debutant Luke Richardson won the event, with this being his first major strongman competition victory. Allerton Castle
Allerton Castle, also known as Allerton Park, is a Grade I listed nineteenth-century Gothic or Victorian Gothic house at Allerton Mauleverer in North Yorkshire, England. It was rebuilt by architect George Martin, of Baker Street, London in 1843–53. It is east of Harrogate and just east of the A1(M), at its junction with the A59 York- Knaresborough road and a late 20th-century block used for education and corporate functions. Outside is St Martin's Church, Allerton Mauleverer. History Pre-1786 The Allerton estate belonged to the Mauleverer family from the time of the Norman Conquest. The nearby church of St Martin contains several tomb-monuments to them. When Richard Mauleverer died heirless in 1692, Allerton passed to his wife, who left the estate to Richard Arundell, her son by her second marriage. Terry Hollands (born 6 June 1979) is a British bodybuilder and the winner of the 2bros Pro Luke Sandoe Classic Beginners Class 2019 bodybuilding championships. Hollands was also a former strongman competitor and winner of Britain's Strongest Man and England's Strongest Man competitions. He's also a Europe's Strongest Man silver (2010) & bronze (2017) medalist, a 2 x time World's Strongest Man bronze medalist (2007 & 2011), a 2 x time Arnold Strongman Classic 8th-place winner (2011 & 2012), World's Ultimate Strongman 9th-place winner (2018), and the 5th most prolific strongman contestant in history having competed in more than 90 international competitions, winning 4 of them throughout 17 years.
