2019–20 SVB Eerste Divisie
The 2019–20 SVB Eerste Divisie was the 87th season of the SVB Eerste Divisie, the top division association football, football competition in Suriname. The season began on 6 December 2019 and prematurely ended on 13 March 2020 due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic in Suriname, COVID-19 pandemic, ultimately for the season to be abandon and null by the Surinamese Football Association. At the time of abandonment, Inter Moengotapoe led the league in points, and qualified for the 2021 Caribbean Club Shield. SVB Eerste Divisie
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the second highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June, with each team playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was previously known as the Hoofdklasse but was rebranded as the Topklasse for the 2016–17 season, before being renamed the Eerste Divisie starting in the 2017–18 season. In 2024, the SVB introduced a new professional competition, the Suriname Major League, with the Eerste Divisie now serving as the nation's top amateur competition. 2021 Caribbean Club Shield
The 2021 Caribbean Club Shield was originally to be the fourth edition of the Caribbean Club Shield (also known as the CFU Club Shield), the second-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in Curaçao between 23 April and 2 May 2021. However, CONCACAF decided in early April to postpone the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Curaçao. Eventually the tournament was cancelled, and a number of teams originally set to participate in the 2021 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield instead participated in the expanded 2021 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship. Inter Moengotapoe (sometimes rendered Inter Moengo Tapoe or just IMT) is a Surinamese football club, based in Moengo, Marowijne between Paramaribo and the border town of Albina. They play their home matches at the Ronnie Brunswijkstadion. Since the launch of professional football on February 22, 2024, Inter Moengotapoe is competing in the professional Suriname Major League.
