2019–20 Miami FC Season
The 2019–20 Miami FC season was the club's first season playing in the National Independent Soccer Association, a newly established third division soccer league in the United States, and first professional season since 2017. It was also Miami's third season of professional play overall. The team competed in the fall portion of the NISA season, between September and November 2019, before leaving the league and joining the second division USL Championship. During that span Miami went undefeated through eight games and won the NISA East Coast Championship over Stumptown Athletic. Dylan Mares and Miguel González led the team with five goals each. The Miami FC is an American professional soccer team based in Miami, Florida that competes in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. The club began play in the North American Soccer League (NASL) in the 2016 season. Following the demise of the NASL, the club participated in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) before moving to the USL Championship for the 2020 season. National Premier Soccer League
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. The Fort Lauderdale Strikers were an American professional soccer team based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida founded in 2006, that last played in the North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American soccer pyramid in 2016. Lionel Brown (born September 17, 1987) is a professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. Born in Jamaica, he plays for the US Virgin Islands internationally. Florida Soccer Soldiers is an American semi-professional soccer club based in North Miami Beach, Florida, that plays in the United Premier Soccer League. The club was established in 2018 and gained notoriety after they qualified for the third round of the 2019 U.S. Open Cup, defeating professional clubs Miami FC and Charlotte Independence. Bryant Martin Gammiero is an American soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. Career Semi-professional & Professional Gammiero played with NPSL side Miami United in 2018. In May 2019, he joined United Premier Soccer League side Florida Soccer Soldiers, featuring for the amateur club in its notable run in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, reaching the Third Round with wins over Miami FC and USL Championship's Charlotte Independence.
