2019 World Rowing Championships – Women's Eight
The women's eight competition at the 2019 World Rowing Championships took place at the Linz-Ottensheim regatta venue. A top-five finish ensured qualification for the Tokyo Olympics. Ottensheim
Ottensheim is a municipality in the district of Urfahr-Umgebung in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. At its rowing venue, Regattastrecke Ottensheim, it has hosted numerous international rowing competitions, including various World Rowing Championships, World Championships, World Rowing U23 Championships, World U23 Championships, World Rowing Junior Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Rowing Cup, World Cups. Molly Goodman (born 19 February 1993) is an Australian rower. She is a national champion, a three-time Olympian and a world champion winning the 2017 world title in a coxless four. She stroked the Australian eight to victory in the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta. She stroked the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 2019 World Rowing Championships
The 2019 World Rowing Championships were held in Ottensheim, Austria from 25 August to 1 September 2019. Apart from Ottensheim, the right to host the championships was contested by Hamburg in Germany, Račice (Litoměřice District), Račice in the Czech Republic, and Varese in Italy. The event determined the majority of Rowing at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Qualification, qualifiers to the rowing competitions at the Rowing at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics and Rowing at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan. On 21 August, three days before the championships, pararower Dzmitry Ryshkevich from Belarus died after he capsized during a training session. Katelin Guregian ( Snyder; August 16, 1987) is an American national Rowing (sport), rowing team Coxswain (rowing), coxswain. She is a five-time world champion and an Olympic gold medallist. Career She attended Winter Park High School and rowed for Winter Park Crew. She coxed the University of Washington men's eight in college to multiple victories, and has since moved on to the international level. She coxed the US Women's 8+ to a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In 2013, Snyder coxed the U.S. Women's eight to a world record of 5:54.16 at the Rowing World Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. Olivia Coffey (born January 29, 1989) is an American rower. She is a three-time world champion and an Olympian. She won the gold medal in the quad sculls at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. Coffey was in the winning Cambridge crew of The Boat Race 2018. Life Coffey was born in 1989 in Elmira, New York. She first competed at rowing whilst at Phillips Academy in 2005. Meghan Musnicki ( ; born February 5, 1983) is an American rower. She is a five-time world champion and twice Olympic champion. She has competed at three Olympics, twice winning gold in the women's eight at the London 2012 and Rio 2016.
