2019 VAFA Season
The 2019 VAFA season was the 119th season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria (state), Victoria. The season began on 6 April and concluded on 22 September, with 66 teams participating across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. This was the final VAFA season until 2022 VAFA season, 2022 where finals series were held and List of Victorian Amateur Football Association premiers, premiers awarded, with the 2020 VAFA season, 2020 season cancelled and the 2021 VAFA season, 2021 season curtailed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Victoria, COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 70 teams participated across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. Elsternwick Park
Elsternwick Park (known as Sportscover Arena between 2002 and 2018 because of naming rights) is an Australian rules football and cricket stadium in Brighton, a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. The name also refers to the wider parkland in which the main oval is located. The ground is the administrative and primary central playing base of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Lachlan Sullivan (born 25 September 1997) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). State football Sullivan began his career playing junior football at St Kevin's College, Melbourne, St Kevin's College in 2010, playing for the school's U18 side from Year 10 through to Year 12. Promotion And Relegation
Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in a lower division are ''promoted'' to a higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. During the season, teams that are high enough in the league table that they would qualify for promotion are sometimes said to be in the ''promotion zone'', and those at the bottom are in the ''relegation zone'' (colloquially the ''drop zone'' or ''facing the drop''). The Old Melburnians Football Club, also known as Old Melburnians, is an Australian rules football club composed of Melbourne Grammar School alumni, based in Elsternwick, Victoria. The team is, along with Old Caulfield Grammarians, the (equal) second oldest consecutively competing team in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) (the oldest being Collegians). The Old Brighton Grammarians Football Club, nicknamed the Tonners, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. Old Xaverians Football Club
The Old Xaverians Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Kew, an inner suburb of Melbourne. The club was established in 1923 by alumni of Jesuit school Xavier College in Kew. The club is one of the most successful in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, having won 14 VAFA Premier Section flags, with its first in 1981.
