2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's Sprint
The Men's sprint competition at the 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was held on 2 and 3 March 2019. Results Qualifying The qualifying was started on 2 March at 12:30. The top four riders advanced directly to the 1/8 finals; places 5 to 28 advanced to the 1/16 finals. 1/16 finals The 1/16 finals were started on 2 March at 13:39. Heat winners advanced to the 1/8 finals. 1/8 finals The 1/8 finals were started on 2 March at 15:14. Heat winners advanced to the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals The quarterfinals were started on 2 March at 17:22. Matches were extended to a best-of-three format hereon; winners proceeded to the semifinals. Semifinals The semifinals were started on 3 March at 12:00. Winners proceeded to the final. Finals The finals were started on 3 March at 14:37. In the Biblical Book of Judges, Jair or Yair ( ''Yā’īr'', "he enlightens") was a man from Gilead. He was of the Tribe of Manasseh and also descended from the Tribe of Judah (Numbers 32:39-41, 1 Chronicles 2:21-23). Jair judged Israel for 22 years, after the death of Tola, who had ruled of 23 years. His inheritance was in Gilead through the line of Machir, the son of Manasseh. Ethan Mitchell (born 19 February 1991) is a former New Zealand track cyclist. He is a multiple-time World Champion, an Olympic medallist, and Commonwealth Champion. Hugo Barrette (born 4 July 1991) is a Canadian cyclist, specializing in track time trials. Barrette is from the Magdalen Islands, Quebec and now lives in Santa Monica, California, in the USA. Records On 28 August 2014 at Aguascalientes, he set a new Canadian record in the flying 200 m time trial of 9.77 seconds. Sam Webster (born 16 July 1991) is a former New Zealand track cyclist. He was the sprint, keirin and team sprint World Champion at the 2009 Junior World Championships and New Zealand national track cycling champion.
