2019 Tour De Luxembourg
The 2019 Tour de Luxembourg was the 79th edition of the Tour de Luxembourg road cycling stage race. It was held between 5 and 9 June, as a 2.HC event as part of the 2019 UCI Europe Tour. Schedule Teams Thirteen UCI Professional Continental teams, three UCI Continental teams, and the Luxembourg national team made up the seventeen teams that participated the race. Each team entered seven riders, except for , , and the Luxembourg national team, which each entered six, for a starting peloton of 116 riders. Of these riders, only 90 finished the race. 2019 UCI Europe Tour
The 2019 UCI Europe Tour was the fifteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2019 season began on 31 January 2019 with the Trofeo Porreres, Felanitx, Ses Salines, Campos and ended on 20 October 2019. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. Diekirch ( lb, Dikrech or (locally) ; from ''Diet-Kirch'', i.e. "people's church") is a commune with town status in north-eastern Luxembourg, capital city of the canton Diekirch and, until its abolition in 2015, the district of Diekirch. The town is situated on the banks of the Sauer river. The town's heraldic shield, showing a crowned lion on a castle, was granted in 1988. It is based on the town's 14th-century seal and arms. Mondorf
Mondorf-les-Bains ( ; ) is a commune and town in south-eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Remich. Pieter Weening
Pieter Weening (born 5 April 1981) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally for the (2004–2011), (2012–2015), (2016–2019), and (2020) teams. Career Weening was born in Harkema, Friesland. 2005 In 2005 Weening won a stage in the Tour de France. After one of the closest finishes in the Tour ever, Weening won the eighth stage just ahead of Andreas Klöden. In the same year he also won a stage in the Tour de Pologne and finished second overall, five seconds behind winner Kim Kirchen. He was named Dutch cyclist of 2005. 2011 With only a stage win in the Tour of Austria, Weening had to wait six years before a next big victory.
