2019 Southeast Asian Games Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games took place on the evening of Wednesday 11 December 2019 at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium, in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac. During the closing ceremony, the Philippines formally handed over the hosting duties of the Southeast Asian Games to Hanoi, Vietnam, the host city of the 2021 Southeast Asian Games. Venue The New Clark City Athletics Stadium hosted the closing ceremonies. The Athletics Stadium itself had its design was derived from Mount Pinatubo, with its posts and facade made from lahar or volcanic debris from the volcano. Its ringed roofline was made to resemble a crater and be defined by a series of curving canopies. During the Parade of Nations at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony, beginning at 19:00 PST (UTC+8) on 30 November 2019, athletes bearing the flags of their respective nations led their national delegations as they paraded into the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan, preceded by their flag and placard bearer. Each flag bearer was chosen either by the nation's National Olympic Committee or by the athletes themselves. Roger Casugay
Roger Casugay (born March 10, 1994), is a Filipino surfer who competed for the Philippines at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. He is the first Filipino to receive the Pierre de Coubertin Act of Fair Play Award of the International Fair Play Committee in recognition of saving a competitor in longboard semifinals of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Career A native of San Fernando, La Union, Casugay represented the Philippines in the surfing longboard event at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games which his country hosted. Typhoon Kammuri (Tisoy) has affected the wave conditions at the surfing venue of the games. Nguyễn Thị Ánh Viên (born November 9, 1996 in Cần Thơ) is a national-record holding swimmer from Vietnam. She swam for Vietnam at the 2016 Olympics. At the 2014 Asian Games, she won Vietnam's first-ever medal in Swimming. She has been named Vietnam's Athlete of the Year in both 2013 and 2014. As of the end of 2014, she holds the Vietnam Records in 14 of 17 long course individual events. At the 2012 Olympics, she swam the 200 Backstroke and the 400 Individual Medley. Quah Zheng Wen
Quah Zheng Wen (; born 29 September 1996) is a Singaporean professional swimmer who specialises in individual medley, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events. Education Quah was educated at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and had achieved 43 points out of a possible 45 for his IB Diploma. After completed his IB Diploma Programme, Quah was accepted into the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, but chose to defer his studies. He subsequently went on to enrol at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017, before graduating in 2021. Swimming career In June 2012, he set a national record in the 200 m individual medley.
