2019 Serbia FIBA Basketball World Cup Team
The 2019 Serbia FIBA Basketball World Cup team represented Serbia at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China. Serbia finished the tournament in fifth place with a 6–2 record and qualified for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Serbia qualified for the World Cup by taking the 3rd place in the European Second Round Group L. The team was coached by Aleksandar Đorđević, with assistant coaches Jovica Antonić, Darko Rajaković, and Miroslav Nikolić. The Serbian team won the silver medal at the previous World Cup. This was the 3rd appearance of Serbia at the FIBA Basketball World Cup; however, FIBA considers Serbia as the successor team of FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro who themselves qualified on three occasions. Jovica Antonić
Jovica Antonić ( sr-cyr, Јовица Антонић, born 13 July 1966) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who is the youth system coordinator for the Crvena zvezda youth system. Playing career A point guard, Antonić played in Yugoslavia from 1982 to 1990. During his playing days, he played for Partizan (3 games during the 1982–83 season), Jagodina, KK Poliester Priboj and Mladost Zemun. He retired as a player with Mladost in 1990 due to serious injury. Coaching career Men's basketball In 1991, Antonić began his coaching career in Mladost Zemun. 2017 Serbia EuroBasket Team
The 2017 Serbia EuroBasket team represented Serbia and won the silver medal at the EuroBasket 2017 in Helsinki (Finland), Tel Aviv (Israel), Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Istanbul (Turkey). They were automatically qualified for the EuroBasket by taking the 4th place in EuroBasket 2015. Kopaonik ( sr-Cyrl, Копаоник; ) is a mountain range located in Kosovo and Central Serbia. The highest point of this mountain range is the Pančić's Peak with an altitude of .
