2019 Missouri Tigers Baseball Team
The 2019 Missouri Tigers baseball team represented the University of Missouri in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Tigers played their home games at Taylor Stadium. NCAA Investigation On January 31, 2019, the NCAA gave the Tigers a postseason ban for the 2019 season. The Tigers' football and softball teams were also suspended from postseason play. However, due to an ongoing NCAA investigation, the baseball and softball teams will be eligible for postseason in 2019. The NCAA found that a former University of Missouri tutor violated NCAA tules by completing coursework for 12 student athletes in football, baseball, and softball. The tutor or any of the athletes involved in the investigation were not named in the NCAA's report. The tutor received a 10-year show-cause for her involvement in the penalties. Steve Bieser
Steven Ray Bieser (born August 4, 1967) is an American former professional baseball catcher and outfielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the Missouri Tigers. He played college baseball at Jefferson College and Southeast Missouri State before playing professionally from 1989 to 2001. He then served as head coach of the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (2013–2016). Amateur career Bieser was not highly regarded as a prospect when he graduated from high school, where he played for the Ste. Genevieve Dragons, and after graduation he enrolled at Jefferson College, a junior college in Missouri. Jefferson's coach, David Oster, enjoyed a good reputation as an instructor, having coached seven players who made the Major Leagues (including Bieser) and having been selected to the National Junior College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. Sullivan Field (University Of Incarnate Word)
Sullivan Field is a baseball park located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. It is the home of the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals baseball team of the NCAA Division I Southland Conference. It opened on April 8, 1989, with a 5–2 win over their cross-town rival, the St. Mary's Rattlers. Lights were added before the 2004 season so that night baseball would be possible. In 2018, Phase I of stadium improvements to both the baseball and softball fields was completed. Phase I included changing the field surface from Tiff 19 turf to AstroTurf RootZone Diamond OPS Series field turf, new backstops, netting and other improvements. Roadrunner Field is a college baseball stadium in San Antonio, Texas, United States on the main campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. It is home to the UTSA Roadrunners baseball team, and seats 800. The stadium was opened in 1993. The stadium features a press box with seating for eight, and three indoor batting cages. Previous season The Rebels finished 48–17 overall, and 18–12 in the conference. The Rebels tied their school record for wins, won a share of the SEC Western Division Championship, and won the SEC tournament. The 2019 Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team represents the University of Arkansas in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Razorbacks were coached by Dave Van Horn, in his 17th season with the Razorbacks, and played home games at Baum–Walker Stadium. Arkansas ended the 2018 season as runners-up in the College World Series (CWS). Five starting fielders and two starting pitchers from the 2018 team had moved on to professional baseball or graduation. Expectations were high for the 2019 team, picked to finished third in the SEC West and ranked between #12-25 in preseason polls. Arkansas finished with a 46–18 (20–10 SEC) record, winning the SEC West and entering the postseason ranked #4-6 nationally.
