2019 Men's PSA World Tour Finals
The 2019 Men's PSA World Series Finals was the men's edition of the PSA World Tour Finals (Prize money : $160,000). The top 8 players in the 2018â19 PSA World Tour are qualified for the event. The event took place at Mall of Arabia, Cairo in Egypt from 9â14 June 2019. It was the first edition under the PSA World Tour Finals label after the PSA renamed PSA World Series to current PSA World Tour Finals. CIB sponsored the event. Mohamed El Shorbagy was the defending champion but lost in Semifinals to Karim Abdel Gawad. Gawad won his first ''PSA Finals'' title after defeating fellow countryman Mohamed Abouelghar 3â2 in a marathon match (92m). Karim started the match winning first two games 2â0, before Abouelghar equalled it 2â2. Karim Abdel Gawad won the last game 12â10 (3â2) becoming new champion. The 2018â19 PSA World Tour is the international squash (sport), squash tour organised circuit organized by the Professional Squash Association (PSA) for the 2018 squash (sport), squash season. It's the 4th PSA season since the merger of PSA and WSA associations in 2015. The most important tournaments in the series are the 2018â19 PSA Men's World Squash Championship, Men's and 2018â19 PSA Women's World Squash Championship, Women's ''PSA World Championship''. Diego ElĂas (born November 19, 1996 in Lima) is a squash player who represents Peru. He reached a career-high world ranking of No. 4 in July 2022. His accomplishments include winning World Junior Championships twice, British Junior Open Twice, and winning the US Junior Open in Boys' U15, U17, and U19. Simon Rösner (born 5 November 1987 in WĂŒrzburg) is a German former professional squash player. He broke the Top 10 in the PSA World Rankings for the first time in November 2014, going on to become the highest-ranked male German player of all time. Paul Daniel Coll (born 9 May 1992) is a professional squash player from New Zealand. In March 2022, he became the first New Zealand man to achieve a world ranking of World No. 1. Ali Farag
Ali Amr Farag (; born 22 April 1992) is an Egyptian professional squash player. He is the 2018â19, 2020â21 and 2021â22 World Champion, and is currently ranked as world No. 1 by the Professional Squash Association (PSA). Education Farag graduated from Harvard University in 2014 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Farag also graduated as one of the best squash players in college history, suffering only two defeats in his three years. As a member of Harvard's Varsity Squash Team, Farag won two individual national titles and helped lead Harvard to its first team title in 17 years in 2014.
