2019 London Skolars Season
The 2019 London Skolars season is the 25th in the club's history, and seventeenth as a professional rugby league outfit. Competing in Betfred League 1, the third tier of British Rugby League and playing at the New River Stadium, London N22, the team is coached by Jermaine Coleman for the fifth consecutive season. Year Review January Just prior to Christmas the London Skolars announce that Betfred Championship club, Toronto Wolfpack are to invest in the London club as part of a ground-breaking transatlantic deal. The 2019 Betfred League 1 fixtures, released in November 2018, schedule the London Skolars to travel to West Wales Raiders on the second weekend of the season on 23 February. The first home match will see Jermaine Coleman's team play host to Newcastle Thunder on 2 March in a Round 3 fixture. Stebonheath Park
Stebonheath Park (''Welsh: Parc Stebonheath'') is a multi-use stadium in Llanelli, West Wales with a capacity of 3,700. It is primarily used as a football ground and is the home of Llanelli Town A.F.C. It was also used for athletics and Llanelli Amateur Athletic Club (Llanelli AAC) were based at the stadium. It is owned by Llanelli Town Council. From 2015 West Wales Raiders rugby league club used the stadium for their debut season in the Conference League South and subsequent season in the RFL League 1 until the club withdrew from the league in December 2022. Omari Caro (born 7 March 1991) is a former Jamaican international rugby league footballer who last played as a er for the London Skolars in League 1. Upon retiring from professional rugby, Omari is now a high school teacher. Sheffield Eagles
The Sheffield Eagles are a professional rugby league club that play in the Betfred Championship. The club play their home games at the Olympic Legacy Park (OLP) on the former site of Don Valley Stadium, their former ground. The original club was formed in 1984 and formerly competed in the Super League. The new, current club was formed in 2000 following a merger of the old club with Huddersfield Giants. Betfred Championship
The Championship, known as the Betfred Championship for sponsorship reasons, is a professional rugby league competition. It is the second-tier competition organised by the Rugby Football League, the governing body for the sport in England, and consists of 14 teams, with promotion to the Super League and relegation to the third-tier competition, League One. The league announced a two-year sponsorship deal with the bookmaking company Betfred ahead of the 2018 season.
