Quesnel, British Columbia
Quesnel (Kee-nel in French) is a city located in the Cariboo Regional District of British Columbia, Canada. Located nearly evenly between the cities of Prince George and Williams Lake, it is on the main route to northern British Columbia and the Yukon. Josh Barry
Josh Barry (born June 20, 1992 in Fredericton, New Brunswick) is a Canadian curler. Career Juniors Barry is a four-time New Brunswick junior champion, winning provincial championships between 2010 and 2013. At the 2010 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he skipped his New Brunswick team of Chris Sleep, Blake Hunter and Alex Kyle to a 5–7 record. At the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Barry threw fourth stones on a team skipped by Jon Rennie. That team went 8–4 in round robin play, and lost in a tiebreaker against Newfoundland and Labrador. At the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Barry was back to skipping. He led his team of Kerry MacLean, Chris MacRae and Andrew O'Dell to a 5–7 record. At the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he led his team of Rene Comeau, Spencer Watts and O'Dell to a 6–4 record, just missing the playoffs. John Cullen (curler)
Barry John Cullen (born August 2, 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Hartford Whalers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning. He was a standout player for Boston University and is the school's all-time leading scorer. After the Buffalo Sabres selected him in the 1986 NHL Supplemental Draft but chose not to offer him a contract, Cullen signed with the Flint Spirits of the International Hockey League (IHL) for the 1987–88 season where he was named the IHL's co-Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player after leading the league in scoring. His career was halted in 1997 when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He attempted a brief comeback in 1998 after an 18-month battle with the disease, for which the NHL awarded him the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, before retiring to serve as an assistant coach for a year with the Lightning. Jay Wakefield
Jay Wakefield (born December 28, 1988 in Newmarket, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. He is a former provincial junior champion and currently plays second for the Paul Cseke rink on the World Curling Tour. Career Wakefield's lone provincial junior championship came in 2008 when his team of lead Jamie Danbrook, second Paul Cseke and fourth Chase Martyn won the event. The team thus qualified to represent British Columbia at the 2008 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the Juniors, the rink finished the round robin with a 5-7 record, missing the playoffs. After juniors, Wakefield quickly joined the men's curling scene. He qualified for his first provincial championship in 2010 as a skip, with teammates Cseke (throwing fourth stones), third Derek Errington and lead John Cullen. Matthew Blandford (born April 16, 1985) is a Canadian curler currently residing in Cold Lake, Alberta. He is originally from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, and is a three-time Newfoundland and Labrador junior champion. Career Blandford started his curling career as a junior curler in Newfoundland and Labrador. He was the provincial junior champion three times, and represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canadian Junior Championships three times. Dean A. "Skippy" Joanisse (born December 8, 1971) is a Canadian curler from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Career Joanisse is most notable for skipping his British Columbia team to the 1989 Canadian Junior Curling Championships title, qualifying him to represent Canada at the 1990 World Junior Curling Championships.
