2018–19 Torino FC Season
The 2018–19 season was Torino Football Club's 108th season of competitive football, 91st season in the top division of Italian football and 74th season in Serie A. The club competed in Serie A and in the Coppa Italia. The season was coach Walter Mazzarri's first full campaign in charge of Torino, after replacing Siniša Mihajlović following his sacking during the 2017–18 season. Torino FC
Torino Football Club (), colloquially referred to as Toro, is an Italian professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont that currently plays in the Serie A, the highest football league of Italy. Founded in 1906 as ''Foot-Ball Club Torino'', they are historically among the most successful clubs in the nation with seven league titles, many of which coming from the Grande Torino era in the 1940's. Their last Serie A title was awarded in 1976. Torino have won the Coppa Italia five times, and have won one international, now-defunct tournament—the Mitropa Cup—in 1991. Torino plays all of its home games at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino (also known as the Stadio Comunale "Vittorio Pozzo" until 2006). Danubio Fútbol Club is a Uruguayan football club based in Jardines del Hipódromo, Montevideo that currently plays in the Uruguayan Primera División. Founded in 1945, the club's home stadium is Jardines del Hipódromo, which has a capacity of 19,450. History Danubio was founded by the Bulgarian-born brothers Mihail (Miguel) and Ivan (Juan) Lazaroff on 1 March 1932 together with other youths from the "Republica de Nicaragua" school in Montevideo. The club's name is a reference to the Danube river, the second-longest river in Europe. It was proposed by Mihail and Ivan's mother, María Mincheff de Lazaroff. Initially, she suggested the club be named after a different river in Bulgaria – Maritsa. However, the proposal was not approved, as the name was viewed as too feminine. Nicolas Nkoulou
Nicolas Julio Nkoulou Ndoubena (born 27 March 1990), known as Nicolas Nkoulou, is a Cameroonian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Sakaryaspor on loan from Turkish TFF 1. Lig club Amedspor and the Cameroon national team. Nkoulou began his career in the French league with Monaco, where he spent three years before signing for Marseille in 2011. With Marseille, he won his first senior trophy, the Coupe de la Ligue in the 2011–12 season. In 2016, he left Marseille for Lyon, but after a disappointing year he left to join Italian club Torino, initially on loan but later on a permanent basis. Though initially impressing, he fell out of favour, and left the club in 2021, before signing for English club Watford Internationally, Nkoulou played 75 times for Cameroon between 2008 and 2017, and decided to retire shortly after winning the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring the equalising goal in the final. Lévy Koffi Djidji (born 30 November 1992) is a professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football), defender. Born in France, Djidji plays for the Ivory Coast national football team, Ivory Coast national team. Club career Born in Bagnolet, Djidji started his career in the youth team of his hometown club AJN Bagnolet. In the spring of 2006, he left his hometown and signed with Saint-Herblain Olympique Club.
