Inter Moengotapoe
Inter Moengotapoe (sometimes rendered Inter Moengo Tapoe or just IMT) is a Surinamese football club, based in Moengo, Marowijne between Paramaribo and the border town of Albina. They play their home matches at the Ronnie Brunswijkstadion. Inter Moego currently compete in Eerste Divisie, and finished in 1st position in the 2018–19 season. History IMT was champion of Suriname 10 times, winning every year between 2006-07 and 2018–19 except for 2007–08, 2011–12 and 2017-18. IMT has participated in the CFU Club Championship nine times, most recently in 2017 when they were eliminated in the first round, finishing runners-up in their group. SVB Eerste Divisie
The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie. The competition was founded in 1924, when Suriname was still a Dutch colony. History At the beginning of the 20th century the NGVB (Guyaneesche Dutch Football Association) was founded. SVB Tweede Divisie
The SVB Tweede Divisie is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi. The league was previously known as the SVB Eerste Klasse but became the Hoofdklasse for the 2016–17 season after Suriname's top division changed its name from Hoofdklasse to Topklasse, only to be rebranded as the Tweede Divisie for the 2017–18 season. Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger, known as SNL, is the Surinamese football club of the national military, which currently plays in the SVB Topklasse. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion. History Early years In 1926, the military football club M.V.V. (Militaire Voetbal Vereniging) was founded, out of which SNL amalgamated. Prior to the establishment of M.V.V. however, there was another football club of the Surinamese military, namely M.V.C.J. (Militaire Voetbal Club Juliana), founded in 1909. SV Voorwaarts, Suriname
Sport Vereniging Voorwaarts is an association football club from Paramaribo, Suriname, which currently play in the Surinamese Topklasse. History Foundation Founded on August 1, 1919 by a group of school kids, primarily from the Hendrikschool, who had decided that they wanted to continue to play organized football in the club associations, following the completion of their studies. The club was founded at the parents' house of 13 year old club member Bob Verhoeven in Fort Zeelandia. Other members who were present at the club's foundation were former players Max Enuma, William Read, Daisy A. Samson, George Meyer, Henny van Eyck, A. Eddie Zaal and Eddy van Hoek. 2020 Caribbean Club Shield
The 2020 Caribbean Club Shield was originally to be the third edition of the Caribbean Club Shield (also known as the CFU Club Shield), the second-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in Curaçao between 3–12 April 2020. On 13 March 2020, CONCACAF suspended all upcoming competitions scheduled to take place over the next 30 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the new dates of the tournament to be confirmed later.
