2018–19 Oman Professional League
The 2018–19 Oman Professional League is the 43rd edition of the Oman Professional League, the top football league in Oman. The season started on August 17, 2018. Foreign players Restricting the number of foreign players strictly to four per team, including a slot for a player from AFC countries. A team could use four foreign players on the field during each game including at least one player from the AFC country. Oman Professional League
The Oman Professional League ( ar, دوري المحترفين عمان; known as the '' Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons), previously known as the Omantel Elite League, is the top division of the Oman Football Association, and was officially created in 1976. Currently the most successful team in the league is Dhofar with a total of eleven titles to their name. Evolution to a professional league In 2010, during the annual draw for the Sultan Qaboos Cup, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman, granted the OFA an annual 2.6 million rial (approximately 6.7 million dollars) till the year 2015 to further boost the development of the league. The move was made to nurture Oman's football youth, and create higher hopes of Oman qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Dhofar Governorate ( ar, مُحَافَظَة ظُفَار, Muḥāfaẓat Ẓufār) is the largest of the 11 Governorates in the Sultanate of Oman in terms of area. Amro Jenyat ( ar, عَمْرو جَنيَات; born 15 January 1993) is a Syrian professional footballer who plays as a right back or a winger for Al-Karamah and the Syria national team.
