2018–19 Men's FIH Series Finals
The Men's FIH Series Finals 2019 was the final stage of the 2018–19 Men's Hockey Series, 2018–19 edition of the Hockey Series. It was held from April to June 2019. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) confirmed that Malaysia, India and France would host FIH Series Finals in 2019. The top two teams from each event qualified for the 2019 Men's FIH Olympic Qualifiers. Varun Kumar (field Hockey)
Varun Kumar (born 25 July 1995) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a Field hockey#Positions, defender for Punjab Warriors in the Hockey India League and the India men's national field hockey team, Indian national team. He was part of the Indian team that won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Career Born in Punjab, India, Punjab, Kumar belongs to Dalhousie, Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. Kumar first started to play hockey when he was in school. He represented his home state of Punjab in the Junior National Championships in 2012 and did very well, earning a call-up to the junior national team. Injury soon after the tournament kept Kumar quiet for two years before he played the 2014 Junior National Championships and was recalled into the junior national team. Malaysia National Hockey Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in National Sports Complex, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for the Malaysia national field hockey team and the Malaysia women's national field hockey team. The main stadium holds up to 12,000 people and was built in 1997. There is a second pitch located adjacent to the stadium, with 2,000 seats and is used to hold smaller capacity as well as practice matches. The stadium became the first FIH Global Elite Pitch in history, which was awarded for the main stadium and training field in 2017.
