Liga III
The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. It was founded in 1936 and was called Divizia C until 2006. An exception was the seasons 1992–93 to 1996–97, in which the league was called Divizia B. Clubul Sportiv Ocna Mureș commonly known as CS Ocna Mureș or simply Ocna Mureș, is a Romanian football club based in Ocna Mureș, Alba County, which currently competes in the Liga IV – Alba County, the fourth tier of the Romanian football. The club was known in the interwar period as Solvay Uioara and as Soda Ocna Mureș between 1945 and 2007. History The club was founded in 1933 as Solvay Uioara, from the passion of the Belgian baron Solvay – the owner then of the soda factory – to continue the tradition of football in Ocna Mureș, began by FC Ocna Mureș still before the First World War, when the precursor of the team from the town on the Mureș River has represented the city in the Hungarian Second Division in the 1913–14 season. 2017–18 Liga IV
The 2017–18 Liga IV was the 76th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The champions of each county association play against one from a neighboring county in a playoff to gain promotion. From this season the counties were divided into 7 regions, each consisting of 6 counties and the draw was made on 28 February 2018, with 3 months and a half before the first matches. Romanian Football League System
The Romanian football league system, also known as the football pyramid, refers to the system in Romanian club football that consists of several football leagues bound together hierarchically by promotion and relegation. The first three leagues are organized at a national level and consist of fully professional teams. Lower divisions are organized at Counties of Romania, county levels, with each county's football association controlling its respective leagues. Reserve teams play in the same league system as their parent clubs. National leagues The first three tiers are organized by nationwide federations: the first tier is overseen by the Romanian Professional Football League, while the second and third are run by the Romanian Football Federation. 2019–20 Liga III
The 2019–20 Liga III was the 64th season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season was initially scheduled to begin on 24 August 2019 and to end on 30 May 2020. The season was interrupted on 9 March 2020, after 16 rounds, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania, COVID-19 pandemic. After two months of inactivity, on 11 May 2020, the Romanian Football Federation announced that the season was discontinued and the best ranked teams from each series (after 16 rounds) were promoted to Liga II, only if the distance between the leader and the runner-up was bigger than 3 points. Otherwise promotion play-offs will be played between the best two teams of the series. No teams were relegated this season, apart from the clubs that were already dissolved or excluded (CSU Dunărea de Jos Galați, CSU Galați, ACS Tractorul Cetate, Tractorul Cetate and CS Național Sebiș, Național Sebiș). Clubul Sportiv Făurei, commonly known as CS Făurei, or simply as Făurei, is a Romanian amateur football club based in Făurei, Brăila County, founded in 2002. Clubul Sportiv Academica Recea, commonly known Academica Recea, or simply as Recea, is an amateur Romanian football club based in Recea, Maramureș County. The team was founded in 2013 and promoted to Liga III at the end of the 2014–15 season, after a promotion play-off against Voința Cetate, winners of Bistrița-Năsăud County series. After a two-legged tie Recea won 5–4 and promoted for the first time in its history in the Liga III.
