Västernorrland County or Region Västernorrland held Regional councils of Sweden, regional council 2018 Swedish local elections, elections on 9 September 2018 on the same day as the 2018 Swedish general election, general and municipal elections. Results The number of seats remained at 77 with the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Social Democrats winning the most at 28, a drop of ten from in 2014 Västernorrland county election, 2014. The party especially lost a lot of ground in Sollefteå Municipality, Sollefteå following the closure of the childbirth unit of the local hospital, going from 47.6% to 14%. Västernorrland County
Västernorrland County () is a county ('' län'') in the north of Sweden. It is bordered by the counties of Gävleborg, Jämtland, Västerbotten and the Gulf of Bothnia. The name ''Västernorrland'' means "Western Norrland", as it was in the western part of the original Norrland (northern Sweden and northern Finland). Örnsköldsvik Municipality
Örnsköldsvik Municipality (; ) is one of Sweden's 290 Municipalities of Sweden, municipalities, in Västernorrland County in northern Sweden. Its seat is in the town Örnsköldsvik. The present municipality was created in 1971 by the amalgamation of the ''City of Örnsköldsvik'' with seven former rural municipalities. Geography Örnsköldsvik is situated near the northern end of the "Höga Kusten, High Coast", which is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO World Heritage Site and has the third longest suspension bridge in Europe, the Höga Kusten Bridge. Ånge Municipality () is a Municipalities of Sweden, municipality in Västernorrland County, northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Ånge. The railway junction Ånge was in 1947 made a market town (''köping'') and detached from ''Borgsjö''. In 1971 they were reunited and together with ''Haverö'' and ''Torp'' the present municipality was formed. The municipal most known slogan is ''Sweden's geographical center''. Timrå Municipality () is a municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden. The town of Timrå is the municipal seat. The rural municipality ''Timrå'' was made a market town (''köping'') in 1947. Kramfors Municipality
Kramfors Municipality () is a municipality in Västernorrland County, northern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Kramfors. The rural municipality of ''Gudmundrå'' was in 1947 made one of the last administrative cities of Sweden and got the name Kramfors from an industrial settlement. In 1952 many of the surrounding entities were grouped into larger municipalities. The nationwide reform in 1971 made Kramfors a unitary municipality, but the amalgamation process was not fulfilled until 1974. The number of original units within the present municipality is eleven, including Bjärtrå. The municipality features the Sandö Bridge, crossing the Ångerman River. It is a concrete bridge in one span, and with a length of 264 meters it was the longest of that kind from its inauguration 1943 to 1964.
