Mike Bryan and Jack Sock won their second consecutive Grand Slam as a pair, defeating Łukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo in the final, 6–3, 6–1. Mike Bryan won an all-time record 18th grand slam men's doubles title, and with a sixth US Open men's doubles title, he equals Richard Sears and Holcombe Ward. Bryan retained the ATP number 1 doubles ranking at the conclusion of this tournament, after fellow contenders Oliver Marach and John Peers both lost in the early rounds. Sock reached a career-high ranking of no. 2 after this tournament. Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecău were the defending champions, but lost in the second round to Radu Albot and Malek Jaziri. Mike Bryan
Michael Carl Bryan (born April 29, 1978) is an American former professional tennis player. Widely regarded as one of the greatest doubles tennis players of all time, Bryan was ranked as the world No. 1 in men's doubles for a record 506 weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 a record ten times. Bryan won a record 128 ATP Tour-level doubles titles, including 22 majors: a record 18 in men's doubles, and four in mixed doubles. Alongside his twin brother Bob, the Bryan brothers were one of the most successful doubles partnerships in tennis history. The pair were named the ATP Team of the Decade for the 2000s. Juan Sebastián Cabal Valdés (; born 25 April 1986) is a Colombian former professional tennis player. A world No. 1 in doubles, he also reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 184 in February 2011. Julio Leonardo Peralta Martínez (; born 9 September 1981) is an inactive professional tennis player from Chile.
