2018 Ole Miss Rebels Football Team
The 2018 Ole Miss Rebels football team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Rebels played their home games at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi and competed in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by second-year head coach Matt Luke. They finished the season 5–7, 1–7 in SEC play to finish in sixth place in the Western Division. On December 1, 2017, the University of Mississippi was dealt multiple sanctions by the NCAA, including a 2-year post-season ban. As Ole Miss already self-imposed a post-season ban during the 2017 season, 2018 will be the last season without post-season play due to the sanctions. Matt Luke (American Football)
Matthew Barham Luke (born October 29, 1976) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive line coach at Clemson University. Luke previously served as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at the University of Georgia. Luke was also the head coach at the University of Mississippi, amassing a 15–21 record from 2017 to 2019. Playing career Luke was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was a standout at Gulfport High School, but he was a walk-on at Ole Miss, where scholarships were limited because of NCAA sanctions. He played center there from 1995 to 1998, graduating in 2000. Dawson Knox
Dawson Alan Knox (born November 14, 1996) is an American professional football tight end for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and was selected by the Bills in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. Early life Knox attended St. Paul Christian Academy and Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He played wide receiver and quarterback for the high school football team. Scottie Phillips (born October 6, 1997) is an American professional football running back who is a free agent. He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels. Miles Battle
Miles Christopher Battle (born January 4, 2000) is an American professional football cornerback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and the Utah Utes. Elijah Danilo Moore (born March 27, 2000) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. Jordan Taalolo Ta'amu-Perifanos (born December 10, 1997) is an American professional football quarterback for the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL).
