2018 NCAA Division I Softball Season
The 2018 NCAA Division I softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I (NCAA), Division I level, began in February 2018. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2018 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2018 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Oklahoma City at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, ended on June 4, 2018. Oklahoma Sooners Softball
The Oklahoma Sooners softball team represents the University of Oklahoma in NCAA Division I college softball. The team competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and plays its home games at Love's Field in Norman, Oklahoma. The Sooners are currently led by head coach Patty Gasso. Oklahoma has won their conference title 16 times, and their conference tournament ten times, winning the Big 12 Conference softball tournament, Big 12 Conference tournament nine times and the SEC softball tournament, SEC tournament once. In baseball, batting is the act of facing the opposing pitcher and trying to produce offense for one's team. A batter or hitter is a person whose turn it is to face the pitcher. Innings Pitched

Earned Run
In baseball, an earned run is any run that was fully enabled by the offensive team's production in the face of competent play from the defensive team. Conversely, an unearned run is a run that would not have been scored without the aid of an error or a passed ball committed by the defense; it is "unearned" in that it was, in a sense, "given away" by the defensive team. Earned and unearned runs count equally toward the game score; the difference is purely statistical. Earned Run Average
In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the average of earned runs allowed by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game). It is determined by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings pitched and multiplying by nine. Thus, a lower ERA is better. The Michigan Wolverines softball team represents the University of Michigan in National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division I (NCAA), Division I competition. Meghan Beaubien
Meghan Renee Beaubien (born January 29, 1999) is an American former softball pitcher. She played college softball at Michigan. As a freshman in 2018, she led the NCAA with 33 wins, set a University of Michigan record with 32 wins in the regular season, and was selected as a first-team All-American. Early years Beaubien was born in 1999 and raised in Newport, Michigan. Her mother, Kim Beaubien, played soccer at Boston College. Beaubien attended St. Mary Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan. In June 2016, she pitched a perfect game and struck out 13 of the 15 batters she faced. She was named the Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017. In baseball, the pitch is the act of throwing the baseball toward home plate to start a play. The term comes from the Knickerbocker Rules. Originally, the ball had to be thrown underhand, much like "pitching in horseshoes". Overhand pitching was not allowed in baseball until 1884. Jocelyn Alo
Jocelyn Aloha Pumehana Alo (born September 23, 1998) is an American professional softball player for the Oklahoma City Spark of the Association of Fastpitch Professionals (AFP). She played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners softball, Oklahoma Sooners. Alo was named 2018 NFCA National Freshman of the Year, and named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Towson Tigers
The Towson Tigers, formerly the ''Towson College Knights'', are the athletics teams of Towson University.
