2018 Moto2 Season
The 2018 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 70th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Franco Morbidelli was the reigning series champion, but he did not defend his title as he moved to the MotoGP class. 2018 was the final season that the Honda CBR600RR inline-4 engine package — which debuted in the 2010 Moto2 season — was used in competition; as a brand new engine package (765cc inline-3) supplied by Triumph Motorcycles was introduced for the 2019 season. After finishing 3rd at Sepang, Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia became the 2018 Moto2 World Champion. Miguel Oliveira finished second in the championship and his teammate Brad Binder finished third. Marcel Schrötter
Marcel Schrötter (born 2 January 1993) is a German motorcycle racer. Born in Vilgertshofen, Schrötter started out in the German 125cc National Championship in 2007 and finished fifth in his debut campaign, before he took back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009. In the 2008 season the young german made his World Championship debut as a wildcard rider at the Sachsenring, before three further races in 2009, with a highly impressive fifth place in the final round of the season at Valencia. He has been racing in the Moto2 class for ten years, scoring five podiums. Xavier "Xavi" Cardelús García (born 15 May 1998) is an Andorran motorcycle racer competing in the 2025 Supersport World Championship for the Orelac Racing Verdnatura team. Romano Fenati
Romano Fenati (born 15 January 1996) is an Italian motorcycle racer who competed in the FIM Road Racing World Championship between 2012 and 2023 in the Moto3 and Moto2 categories. He was European 125 cc Champion in 2011, championship runner-up of the Italian 125GP series, and also competed in the Spanish 125GP series. Fenati competed in Moto3 between 2012 and 2023, winning thirteen races. He raced in Moto2 in and , each time being released by his teams before season end. He finally left Moto3 after the 2023 season as he had reached the maximum permitted age of 28 years old. Fenati's conduct has led to disciplinary action from teams and authorities. Mattia Pasini
Mattia Pasini (born 13 August 1985) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Career Early career Pasini participated in his first race at the age of 9. In 1998, aged 13, he suffered a serious motocross accident that left him with several broken bones and permanent nerve damage in his right arm. 125cc World Championship After several successful years in the Italian and European championships, he made his 125cc world championship debut in 2004 as the teammate of Roberto Locatelli. He finished his first season in the 15th place overall, and earned the rookie of the year award. His best results were a 3rd place in Qualifying and a 7th place in the Malaysian Grand Prix. Andrea Locatelli (born 16 October 1996 in Alzano Lombardo) is an Italian motorcycle racer competing in the Superbike World Championship for Yamaha. He was the 2020 Supersport world champion. Dato' Khairul Idham Pawi (born 20 September 1998) is a Malaysian motorcycle racer. He is the youngest non-European to win a Grand Prix, accomplishing this feat in the Argentine race of the 2016 Moto3 World Championship, aged just 17. Jorge Navarro Sanchez (born 3 February 1996) is a Spanish motorcycle racer currently competing in the Supersport World Championship, for Ducati's Orelac Racing Verdnatura team. Álex Márquez Alentà (born 23 April 1996) is a Grand Prix motorcycle rider from Spain racing for Ducati satellite team BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP.
