The 2018 Merrimack Warriors football team represented Merrimack College as a member of the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) during the 2018 NCAA Division II football season. Led by sixth-year head coach Dan Curran, Merrimack compiled an overall record of 5–5 with a mark of 5–4 in conference play, placing fifth in the NE-10. Northeast-10 Conference
The Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located in the northeastern United States in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. It is the only Division II collegiate hockey conference in the United States. History The original 1980 conference was called the "Northeast 7" as the colleges were American International College, Assumption College, Bentley College, Bryant College, the University of Hartford, Springfield College, and Stonehill College. In 1981, Saint Anselm College was the eighth team to join and the resulting "NE-8" stayed this way until 1984 when the University of Hartford left and Merrimack College joined. Dan Curran
Dan Curran (born October 28, 1976) is a former American football Fullback (American football), fullback, and currently the head football coach at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. Curran became fifth head coach of the Merrimack football program after spending the three seasons as the offensive coordinator of one of the top offenses in the country. Mike Gennetti
Mike Gennetti is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach for the Merrimack Warriors of the Northeast Conference (NEC). He played college football for the Worcester State Lancers and was an assistant coach for them from 2003 to 2004 before joining Merrimack in 2005. After having been an assistant for the Warriors from 2005 to 2023, he was named the head coach for the 2024 season. Early life and education From Wilmington, Massachusetts, Gennetti attended Wilmington High School where he played as the football team's starting running back and linebacker. He was a tri-team captain at Wilmington. He attended Worcester State University and played football for the Lancers, being a four-year starter at defensive back. Merrimack College
Merrimack College is a private Augustinian university in North Andover, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1947 by the Order of St. Augustine with an initial goal to educate World War II veterans. Its campus has grown to a campus with nearly 40 buildings housing 13 academic divisions that offer bachelor's, master's, education specialist, and doctoral degrees. The 2018 NCAA Division II football season, part of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level, began on August 30, 2018, and ended with the Division II championship on December 15, 2018, at the McKinney Independent School District Stadium in McKinney, Texas, hosted by the Lone Star Conference. Originally, the game was awarded to another bid by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas but, due to field repairs, that contract was terminated in September 2018. North Andover, Massachusetts
North Andover is an affluent town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. At the 2020 census the population was 30,915. History Native Americans inhabited what is now northeastern Massachusetts for thousands of years prior to European colonization of the Americas. At the time of European arrival, Massachusett and Naumkeag people inhabited the area south of the Merrimack River and Pennacooks inhabited the area to the north. Easton is a town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 25,058 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Greater Boston area. Easton is governed by an elected Select Board.
